Motorcyclist Crashes Into Overpass, Helmet Shattered, Killed Instantly
Picture from rrsponders. A crash occurred in Pathum Thani province early morning on January 20 when a motorcyclist crashed into an overpass and died instantly. At approximately 01:30 Pol. Lt. Weerawat Niyomsap, an investigator from Khlong Luang Police Station, received a report of a fatal motorcycle crash at the Homeplace flyover intersection on the Bangkhan-Nong Suea Road in Khlong Nueng subdistrict, Khlong Luang district. The incident involved a motorcyclist colliding with the overpass and resulted in the rider’s immediate death. Police and traffic officers from Khlong Luang Police Station, forensic medical staff from Thammasat University Hospital, and rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and the volunteer organisation Hongsakul were dispatched to the scene. At the scene, officers discovered the deceased, identified as Mr. Den aged 43, from Ay Nan Lai village, Nan province. His lifeless body was found slumped over his Honda motorcycle, which was heavily damaged at the front. The impact had shattered the helmet he was wearing. According to a witness, the victim had been travelling at high speed along the L1-2 canal road and failed to brake, leading to the violent collision with the Homeplace flyover intersection. Pol. Lt. Weerawat recorded evidence from the scene and instructed Ruamkatanyu personnel to transfer the deceased’s body to the Thammasat University Hospital forensic department for further examination. Authorities are working to contact the victim’s family. -- 2025-01-21 -

Trump's Mass Deportation Plans Spark Controversy and Resistance Across the US
So far the only resistance i have seen is a gag reflex as everybody gets on their knees before him. Let's see if the highland moms really come out to block rapists and criminals from being arrested. -

Rep. Comer Reintroduces Bill to End Pandemic-Era Remote Work for Federal Employees
Your right the button is a silly idea. An ankle bracelet tethered to your desk is the way to go. As far as cost the amount you get offered is based upon the cost of the area you live in or at least was. Why should the employer not get any of the gains made from working at home? Also a camera so you have to show up in a full a suit and perhaps a breathalyzer you can be asked to blow into now and then. -

Shinawatras Lose Golf Club Ownership, but Lease Option Open
QUOTE: "The outcome could set precedents for managing land donations and religious assets across the nation, reported Bangkok Post." This is not a new matter, it's been mentioned in news services /' been reported on / discussed by highly respected senior legal eagles many time before. Previously it's been reported that the existing Thai law (existing for many decades) that temple land (no matter how the temple acquired the land) cannot be sold under any circumstances. Setting precedents is not an appropriate approach, the matter is specifically already covered by Thai law, as above: "existing Thai law (existing for many decades) that temple land (no matter how the temple acquired the land) cannot be sold under any circumstances". Also note that Sanoh Tienthong a very scaly / very corrupt previous politician and long-term buddy of thaksin was very involved in selling the land and in the development of the housing estate. This is a man who would see his mother if offered a half good price, And he had no respect for the law about anything. -

Furniture/Personal Possessions/Container From UK
I've come to the conclusion that the shipping world is just full of freeloaders and parasites. Most of the sites I cam across turned out not to be shippers at all - they simply get your details and pass them out to several genuine shippers adding a chunk on along the way. Until today I've had quotes ranging from £1900 to £6500 for half a 20ft container. Today I did another google search but this time I didn't enter anything about moving or Thailand - I simply put 'shipping agents Liverpool' (my nearest port). A list of what looked like genuine shipping agents came up and the first one I called quoted me £1100 - not for half a 20ft container that would be shared with others, risking damage and a wait until the container is full, its for a full 20ft container. This company will bring a container to my home and allow me 3 hours to fill it. They then take it to the docks and ship it to Thailand using a weekly service that takes 60 days to reach Bangkok. I won't have enough to fill that container but neither will I be risking other people's goods being stacked on top of mine with the possibility of damage. I was recommended not to use a part container service by several people who have done just that and had problems. The downside is that I have to find a clearance agent in Bangkok to deal with customs as the agents this company use only handle commercial goods. Clearly that will involve some cost but I can't see it being a lot. I can supply a 10 tonne truck to move my goods up to my home almost immediately so providing we don't get bogged down with customs, storage fees shouldn't be an issue. I thank everyone for their comments and would say that I'm aware that I can replace much of what I have reasonably cheaply in Thailand but its not that really. Some of this stuff is items I've collected over my lifetime, some is part of my life and some just has sentimental value. Secondhand furniture doesn't bring much in the UK so I doubt I could sell it all. and I just wouldn't feel right taking perfectly good items to the tip. If anyone can recommend a good customs clearance agent in Bangkok, I'd be pleased to hear.
