Fugitive former culture minister Itthiphol Kunplome has offered to surrender to face corruption charges, in connection with the illegal issuance of a permit for the construction of a condominium in Pattaya.

Pattaya — The former Provincial Police Commander of Chonburi province has been cleared of wrongdoing after he was accused of being linked to an attempt to help the real suspects escape prosecution in a 2022 Pattaya pool villa shooting incident.

Industry leader warns new government to think long term but welcomes fortnightly salary payouts

This week, Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Chairman, Kriengkrai Thiennukul, welcomed the government’s decision to pay salaries on a fortnightly basis from January 1st, 2024, but warned that medium and long-term plans to boost the economy were required while Move Forward Sirikanya Tansakul (inset left) said the priority must be to cut debt repayment obligations. Ms Sirikanya said every worker was entitled to a minimum of 30% from their monthly pay towards ongoing expenses.

NACC considers appealing the acquittal in a land encroachment case against politician

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) will consult the Office of the Attorney-General over whether to appeal the verdict of the Region 2 Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases, acquitting former deputy education minister Kanokwan Wilawan, her father Sunthorn and eight other individuals of forest encroachment in Khao Yan National Park.
