I remember my first meeting with a new client when I started computer work in Thailand.

I said hello to the boss, and he looked at his watch: You are on time and you speak English, now if you also know a little about computers then you are our man.

I guess he managed his expectations after his experiences up to then.

I'm not quite geriatric at 55, but I remember when being able to say you could use or even had a computer was a thing.

I'm am one of the first generations that composed essays using a PC (PS2) and laboured over a dot matrix printer to print the damn things for submission, email was not an option. I don't recallwe even had school email accounts.

In general rates for software engineers in Thailand can get similar to Europe, they are little bit lower but so is tax. For example, one of the benefits of BOI companies is flat 15% tax rate if you are over 200k a month. On top of that we still enjoy huge bonuses 2-5 salaries like people making 20k ????

no Thai post graduate will work for 11k, starting rates are 40
