Can anybody tell me what they are currently paying teachers at AUA?

AUA can.

Give them a call or send an email.

I think the same can be said about every educational institute here.

Hopefully you have kicked on since then.

At one level I think that's true and it goes way back longer than 10 years. However, if you really have something to offer i.e. not just another English language teacher, you can find places willing to negotiate. Even within English subjects, I know places that will negotiate and offer higher salaries for genuinely qualified (at least master's) literature teachers.

Not so good for a teacher, google could help:

Kicked on - Idioms by The Free Dictionary

I don't know the idioms from every English speaking country. This particular idiom, in this context, is a British one. I speak (and teach) American English.

When you don't know, you should google, then you learn something.

Or, as an efficient teacher would do, get someone else to do it for you.

Thanks for the advice. How did I make it this far in life without you?

I can finally see why you use the 12 dots at the end of each post.

It really does add a dramatic effect to whatever you're writing ............
