High calorie, low nutrient fast food is cheap and everywhere.  Fresh fruits and vegetables---not so much.

The government should stop grain subsidies and start subsidizing fruits and vegetables.

But fast food isn't cheap, not anymore. Heck, a small combo pizza was $33.00 9th

It's the governments fault... right.

OH wait... we have Obama's affordable care... no more uninsured.  We now have laws about serving size and drinks sizes... no more fatties or diabetics.  In every aspect of society today the elephant in the room is that not one single person dare point the finger at the real reason for the problems... and that is the lack of personal acceptance of responsibility by anyone... no solutions... just finger pointing.

Skipped epidemiology class then?!

Actually, a huge part of the problem lies with the for profit nature of the US medical industry and the insistence of right wingers that the government not interfere with health care decisions. Antibiotics, for example, are still way overprescribed, and as we now know, do immense damage to the human biome. Yet if government were to intervene and sharply restrict antibiotic prescriptions, right wingers would howl about the violation of individual rights. The same goes for the massive overuse of steroids.

Yet all other economically developed nations are ahead of the USA in terms of life expectancy. Even those like Germany and the UK which also have a dismal record. The US approach to health is to apply bandaids. Very costly bandaids.

And exactly what has Joe done to change this... nothing is the correct answer... it has to be Trump's fault I know... but what is the democratic party doing to change the trend... again, NOTHING.

Heart disease and cancer remained, even at the height of the pandemic, the leading causes of death for people 35 to 64. And many other conditions - private tragedies that unfold in tens of millions of U.S. households - have become more common, including diabetes and liver disease.

Heart disease and diabetes are both side effects of obesity. Americans are often obese, so one might say they are the authors of their own health problems ( by gluttony ).

He expanded Medicaid for kids

Give us a break... except for the period of Trump 2016 to 2020, democrats have been in control since 2008... that's 11 years of NOTHING except blaming Trump

Did you read the study... it says that there was very little effect from the changes... it is window dressing for another of Joe's failures.

"Conclusion

We document that the ACA’s Medicaid expansions for low-income adults improved parents’ self-rated health and children’s BMI. Given the health disparities that persist across the socioeconomic spectrum and the compounding nature of health improvements in childhood, the Medicaid program likely serves to shrink these gaps within states that expanded their Medicaid programs. These findings also indicate that there is the potential to reduce similar health disparities in states that have not yet"

And this data comes before Biden's massive expansion of the program.

Maybe since it’s a Thailand forum.  It should be looked at that the death  rate is very high here.  Accidents, lack of or no health insurance, alcoholism, insufficient vaccinations, poor health care , bad air quality, poor sanitation , etc.

My point is.  There are many countries with health issues.  It depends on how one takes care of themselves.. And if they have the proper resources to  do so.

Actually, as of 2020, average life expectancy in Thailand was 79.27 years.
