In a horrifying case of domestic violence, a husband set his wife ablaze following a heated altercation in their rented home in Udon Thani.

The accused, Kemthong, 60, covered his 57-year-old wife in fuel before setting her alight. He alleged that his spouse was pestering him as he tried to sleep, leading to his atrocious reaction.

Responding to his distressed call, emergency services quickly transported the severely burned victim to a local hospital.

The couple, who had been together for 20 years and made a living by selling second-hand goods, had returned home after an emotionally charged doctor’s visit.

They consumed a bottle of liquor before the incident, intensifying their emotional states. The argument ensued when Kemthong tried to rest but was incessantly disturbed by his wife. The dispute escalated rapidly, leading to the husband’s heinous act.

Kemthong expressed remorse, attributing his actions to a fleeting moment of rage and intoxication. He was detained for questioning by Officer Aphimuk Suwanpan at the Udon Thani police station.

The legal proceeding against Kemthong is pending, contingent upon the recovery and testimony of his injured wife.

How fragile are these wimps??? ????

So he covered his wife in fuel and set her alight because she was disturbing his kip. Incredible. I guess he's back home now as the legal proceeding against him is pending.

Just more proof that you can be killed over anything at all in Thailand. It follows someone who murdered his neighbour for turning the wi-fi off, and a father killing his son for slamming a door. And there are plenty of murders we never read of. A few days ago a man in the next village murdered his sister because she wouldn't give him money. I truly believe that Thailand must be one of the most dangerous countries in the world outside of a war zone. Fortunately for us, they mostly only kill themselves, although the Siam Paragon victims weren't so lucky.

Another atrocity in the land of smiles ...

One must be in a deplorable mental state to do that to a partner of 20 yrs .

Primitivism is on the rise it seems ...

We can only wonder what that was about

Absolutely horrific and not acceptable - but possibly poverty has something to do with it.

Millions of Thais do not live, they barely exists. Latter keeps the ice extremely thin and it takes very little to loose nerves.

However it does not justify the action in any matter and should be dealt with the full force of the law.
