In Thailand rich people sue without ever appearing in court. All done through their lawyer. Thaksin did it all the time, both when he was in power and when he was on the run.

It's  been said already both in the Thai media and BP that the photo in the OP is from Thaksin's daughter's social media account two years ago.

Plus the headline is incorrect- a former Democrat MP

Well, if that's the case and the picture is really two years old, why not compare two pictures?

Show the face of the child he is holding, and a picture of that same child now?

Kids change a lot in two years.

I think the best solution here is for Thaksin to go down the pub, have a drink and just forget about it all.

As mentioned elsewhere the photo with his grand daughter is from  years before his return and incarceration, AKA a flat out lie.

Who concocted it though?

Isn’t he the PMs new advisor

Pro-Reform Students Rally to Question Thaksin's Hospital Stay

The Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand organized a peaceful demonstration at the Central World shopping complex, opposite the Police General Hospital.

The event, led by Pichit Chaiyamongkol, featured a mock prison cell representing former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, emphasizing that he should be in jail, not the hospital.

Pichit and his fellow demonstrators were expressing their concerns for the third time, questioning the legitimacy of Thaksin’s illness that has kept him in the hospital for 48 days since his return to Thailand, reported INN.

Thaksin had publicly stated his willingness to face justice and serve time in prison, yet he was transferred to the hospital shortly after his detention, citing health concerns backed by international medical certificates.

The NSPRT's demonstration aimed to highlight what they believe is a manipulation of the justice system. With Thaksin's 60-day hospital stay nearing completion and only 12 days remaining, questions arise about potential new reasons that might be presented to keep the former leader out of prison.

The demonstration was conducted peacefully with officers from the Metropolitan Police Division 6 overseeing the event to ensure safety and order. The NSPRT remains determined to see that justice is served without prejudice, shedding light on a case that continues to draw national attention.

What a joke, wasting police time, to keep those protestors in line. ''Don't they know who I am?''  ????

Using a two year old photograph, and implying that it was taken "yesterday" suggests using false information to get your point across by fair means or foul - "witch hunt"!

it's an old photograph..........they tried the same thing a couple of weeks ago in a different location and used an old family photo trying to stir up trouble. People are easily led though.

The man trying to nail him.

Well, it is the remuneration to Dr Thaksin for ensuring, that the party with the most votes ...... sits in the opposition.

Looking at Google Earth I cannot identify a swimming pool with 100% accuracy, one rooftop is blurred out in blueish - but why bother, when the Royal Bangkok Sports Club is next door ........

I hope someone tells the government goons, that the internet is accessible also outside Thailand and the whole "imprisonment" is nothing but a farçe of superior soap opera quality ...... how sporty of Dr T to take the future of Thailand for swimming lessons ????

We've all long been aware that (real) prison is only for the poor in Thailand.

That picture was apparently taken years ago in Dubai... someone grabbed it from social media account.  (though I think the stay at the hospital is special treatment and he is waiting out his time - this gottha is going to backfire badly).

It was on Paetongtarn's FB page back then.

Does it matter?

It might have been the ministry of dirty tricks, or anyone with some money and/or a grudge against Thaksin.

Does the hospital have a swimming pool?

We prefer to refer to it as the Patient Aquatherapy Facility.

I don't think this is any way to be talking about the future PM ????

Forget about the rights and wrongs involving Thaksin, at least unlike the present PM and the soldier before him, he was elected by the Thai electorate.

At least someone is questioning his lengthy stay in the hospital and, hopefully, that will include looking into his accommodations there.

Why?

Well, the good news for Thaksin is that if they pull another stunt like that and it stresses him out, he can always go down Sukhumvit for a pint or two and forget about the whole thing for a few hours.

Has a place. Within the government but is too sick to return to jail

Give the whole details: elected by the Thai electorate, with massive vote buying.
