A Thai national working in the Gaza Strip told Thai PBS by phone today (Sunday) that there are 36 of them sheltering in a bunker at their work place, living on instant noodles and water from the bathroom, as the water main has been damaged.

Udomporn Jampahom said that one of them, Chatri Chasri, a native of Nakhon Phanom province, was shot in the leg while others, including himself, fell flat on the floor when gunfire broke out following rocket bombardment.

He said his compatriots administered first-aid to Chatri and waited for help from medics, who were yet to arrive because ambulances cannot reach the area in which they had taken shelter.

Just like most Thais when they're abroad. Did any of them consider the risks of working in Israel before they moved there?

Possibly as much as any foreigners who live and work there, even the regular population of citizens. I wonder if Hamas has considered the impact this will have on ordinary Gaza citizens, which may affect them for years to come.

I doubt there will be a Gaza after this.

The Israelis have been looking to take that land for years.

No, they haven't.

Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip.

Up until yesterday talk even talk about temporarily conquering it again (which surfaced on previous fighting rounds) was widely considered lunacy.

There won't be many left once IDF has hadctheir evil way.

If Israel wanted to kill most or all of the people in the Gaza Strip, it would have no trouble doing so. To date, this did not happen. And even now, measured on a ratio of casualties per day, the recent Hamas attack comes way on top.

Israel is not intent on killing Palestinian civilians. If so, there would be no evacuation order, and no reprieve.

It;s an awful awful situation. I cannot grasp the mentality of Hammas, as this reaction by Israel was very obvious. They threw their own supporters under the bus!

Lies.

They conquered it from Egypt in 1967 in the 6 days war, wanted to return it (with the conquered Sinai peninsula) to Egypt in 1979, but Egypt refused to take it back.

They withdrew completely from Gaza in 2005. They blocked Gaza with the Gaza–Israel security barrier (which sadly didn't help them at all on October 7th).

They want absolutely nothing to do with Gaza.
