Sanong Manee, the Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, along with other high-ranking officials, led a joint operation involving tourist police and business registration officers. The operation was aimed at individuals and businesses engaged in unlawful activities that had a negative impact on tourists. It also aimed to oversee and regulate the operation of three-wheeled taxi services in specific zones, which included areas around Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, the Royal Parade Ground, and Khaosan Road. These charges included unauthorized parking in restricted areas (21 cases), driving without the necessary permits (2 cases), and violations of dress code regulations (14 cases). node Posted October 20, 2023 Share Posted October 20, 2023 If they really want to do this, do not dress in brown or uniform, go on Soi 3 outside Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok. See what a metered taxi wants for a 5 mins trip, and put tickets on them all. I reckon they will not need the Chinese's or Russians to fill the Treasury.
