Since it's from/about ReverSharger maybe it's extending the current free/reduced electrons promotion from 5 months to 12 months.   The current promotion began 1 Aug 2024 and ends 3 Jan 2025 ( a few more days than 5 months)....maybe BYD will be extending the promotion by 7 months till 31 July 2025 which ends-up giving 12 months of free/reduced rate electrons.

 

This would line up with a govt rep announcing in late July 2024 that supposedly BYD agreed to 12 months of free/reduced rate electrons but a few days later BYD only implemented the current promotion for 5 months  Time will tell.

After looking at ReverSharger Facebook page I now think it will have something to do with ReverSharger "Wallet"....maybe doubling, tripling, etc., the amount a person has earned from charging.  And since the Facebook poster says the gift is for "everyone" I now kinda doubt it being related to the BYD free/reduced rate promotion which did not apply to everyone.  Plus, BYD vs ReverSharger would probably be the one announcing an extension of the free/reduced rate promotion. 

 

Who knows....we are all guessing....time will tell.

Did my 1 year/20k service today ( actually due Nov 30th and 19,100 km) but whatever !

Included a tyre rotation and wheel balancing ( paid 417 baht for balancing ).Took 2 hours officially.

 

An update was also performed , system version now 2407, update version V1.3.0

No info available on what actually changed but have noticed a few minor things:

Screensaver clock moved from one side to the other (?)

Vent/heat seating shortcut on main screen with other air icons.

Some changes to settings of AVAS sounds.

 

( no navigation route planner, more flexibility for shortcut icons or variable indicator sounds as seen in the V1.4.0 update in Europe)

 

Also got the SIM change and gbox download associated with it, some apps already installed.

All works, tried YouTube and it works moving gear from P to D so presumably can watch while on the go ( if anyone has a death wish !! ).

Good to see ABRP on there as some seem to prefer over Google maps or Waze etc.

Google maps will now play in portrait mode which it won’t in CarPlay ( don’t know about Android Auto ).

 

Only thing that failed is Google Play Store refuses to work despite logging into google.

therefore meaning non of the available apps can be added.

Apparently this is a common problem, seen plenty on FB struggling with this but haven’t understood how to cure it ……… anyone ?

I've seen above "Try Again" error a few times....every time I have clicked it to Try Again it "did" make a connection on the 1st or 2nd click....all was fine.

Thanks, i will indeed “ Try Again “ tomorrow to see if it just needs a few attempts.

 

Although, suspiciously, when the dealership lady showed me the GBox app it was as my photo above i.e. had some apps already installed and she attempted to open Google Play Store only as if to say “ this one is problematic, you have a go “

 

Anyway, tbh, I don’t think there is much more i want to add but i will take a look at some of the FB groups who were reporting the same issue and see if anyone has a fix if the problem persists.

 

@JBChiangRai, @Bandersnatch and @mistral53 have also done the SIM swap possibly, i wonder if they are having any similar issues ?

Presumably they would tell you, I was told.

 

But Network settings will tell you the SIM operator, previously Sing Tel now True.

I had my service yesterday, they fixed a klunking noise from front passenger suspension (I suspect a missing bolt) and said there’s a ticking noise at 30kmhr over gravel in ECO mode so I’ve just dropped the car off with them to fix (I can’t reproduce it) and I’ll pick it up when we get back from Phu Quoc.

 

Amazingly, nobody charging their car at BYD right now while I wait for my daughters to pick me up.
