Lumpini Police Apprehend Cable Thief after Dramatic Chase

At approximately 07:00 AM on October 31st, authorities at Lumpini Police Station received an urgent notification regarding a theft in progress near the Lumpini Park bus stop on Sarasin Road.

 

Officers immediately deployed to the scene, spotting two suspects. Upon seeing the police, the suspects fled on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle, pink-white-black in color, with a Chanthaburi registration, reported Siam Rath.

 

A high-speed pursuit ensued, which led them through multiple major intersections of Bangkok, ending near the Chulalongkorn Soi 36 on Banthat Thong Road, Pathum Wan district.

There, one suspect, identified as Mr. "Air," aged 50, was apprehended. He was found in possession of wire-cutting tools and black cables stashed in a sack. He now faces charges of "joint theft."

 

During the pursuit, officer Chaiyanong Chao Na suffered injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital. Preliminary legal procedures are underway, with the suspect transferred to the investigative unit of Lumpini Police Station.
