Arrived Dec 2000 for a 2 week contract to the oil sector. Stayed and worked on a 28 day cycle rotating between BKK - Offshore and Isaan until Aug 2003. Retired to Isaan full time since then.

I have lived in Phuket for 22 years now, Just interested in how long other BMs have been here.

Now in my 23rd year could never imagine living anywhere else ....... until this year. A sign of changin times???

i visited for work a few times over the past few years, and been for a few holidays in bangkok and pattaya.

I've visited on holiday a few times a year for the last few years.

With all the changes going on in the country I sure am glad of all the experienced folks around here to forewarn me of any potential problems. I also feel experienced enough to help out others with their problems too.

Wow, that's the year I started school.

1992 for me, but permanently in 1995.

I have an Amerian mate who moved here in 1958 - the longest I know of.

Some 30 years, on and off.

Just went through some photos of my first trip to Thailand, Patong Beach - Phuket.

On 2 of the photos there was NOBODY on the beach; on 1 of them I counted 3 people.

Time: between 10.00 and 11.00 AM...

Absolute Paradise...Those were the days :o

I moved over in 1991. Left because of the economic crash, stayed in California for two years and came back here. Lasted two years here and decided that my money wasn't going to be enough. Went back to California to work for three more years until I was sure I had enough money to stay permanently. I'm not planning to leave again.
