30 day visa exemption x 2 extension

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just a quick question

Just had a hip replacement  operation in Chiang Mai and my 30 day visa exemption extension runs out on the 15th Dec, which I fear won't be quite long enough for me to get on a plane and leave.

My question is, can I get 2 extensions on a visa exempt stamp from CM immigration?

Thanks in advance

Richie

No. You are limited to a single 30-day extension. If you can get a letter from the hospital stating that you are not physically able to travel, you might be able to get a medical extension. Be warned that Immigration treats applications for medical extensions with extreme scepticism.

Thanks mate, I can get a letter from the hospital without a problem. Perhaps I'll do a KL or an Udon Thani Nong Kai visa run in a month or so  and hope for the best

Cheers

He can indeed apply a second time, in which he will be granted 7 days ( to leave the country).

If 7 days is all he needs. Doesn't sound like it though.
