Labour Ministry to Push for Overtime Pay for Security Guards

BANGKOK, Dec 1 (TNA) – The Ministry of Labour is set to propose the law amendment on the overtime pay to benefit security guards nationwide.

 

Labour Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn discussed the progress in revising the legislation governing the payment rates for security guards whose working hours exceed 8 hours.

 

The Department of Labor Protection and Welfare has been assigned to draft the proposal for consideration by the Cabinet on December 12.

Maybe in your area... security guards where I live do a sterling job 24 hours a day 365 days of the year.

Not just guarding, but helping residents with all sorts of issues, including minor maintenance, shopping errands etc etc.

Many residents give them food in return, which helps the guards save money.

On my estate one turned up for his 1st night shift armed with duvet & pillow; when told he was expected to stay awake he immediately resigned.  We never got his uniform back!
