multiple visa/passport issues/questions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Ive been on a marriage non-o visa for a few years now. First issued in huahin, last year in chiang rai with the help of an agent because I forgot to put 400k into my bank. This year I have already 400k+ laying in my bank for more than 3 months.

Anyways this year I wanted to get the next one for the next 12 months in hua hin again. I already fully moved from chiang mai to huahin with all documents prepared for my non-o marriage visa application.

It also happened that my passport (german passport holder) also expired at around the same time my current marriage visa expires (8th december), so I got a new one issued in chiang mai a couple of weeks ago. They've cut the edges of my old one with the valid non-o based on marriage and my new passport is obviously empty. (they didnt offer me a letter issued stating that I need to transfer my current visa to the new one at immigration, and I also didnt ask for said later - big mistake?)

Now in Huahin the IO said I have to leave the country, comeback and then apply for my non-o based on marriage like every year. I asked why and he talked to another IO who just said the same.

Ok no issue but from my understanding I cant leave because my new passport has no stamp in it, so they cant stamp me out?

I asked this the IO already and he said I can do it at the airport when I fly out. Now Im worried they wont transfer my visa because I dont have the german embassy letter - or is that letter not needed?

Ive been back to the HH immigration already but they just said the same that I need to leave first.

Im kinda confused and worried that they wont let me leave or is there no reason to be worried?

I'd really appreciate all your help and advice.

I got a new passport when I went to the UK earlier this year. My old passport with retirement extension in it was cancelled with edge cut off. I entered  Thailand carrying old and new passports, they stamped my new one on entry. I filled in a form and went to Jomtien immigration and they transferred stamp and extension for free.
