Foreign Man Hit, Killed By Car In Pattaya

AN UNIDENTIFIED foreign man died after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Pattaya soon after midnight last night (Dec. 5) with the driver blaming him for suddenly jumping in front of his vehicle, TV Channel 7 said.

Major drug bust in Thailand seizes 2 tons of meth bound for Philippines and Australia

In a major drug bust, authorities last night apprehended 13 suspects and confiscated 2 tonnes of crystal methamphetamine from a large tugboat in Chachoengsao’s Bang Pakong district. The narcotics, believed to be headed for the Philippines and Australia, were discovered during a late-night search operation by marine and narcotics suppression police.

Wild elephants ‘tramples’ sugarcanes, sanctuary scrambles to restore order

Over 100 wild elephants caused chaos and distress to villagers in Khao Maikaew, Kabin Buri in Prachin Buri province after rampaging through a sugarcane plantation, forcing officials from the Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary to push the elephants back. However, the limited number of staff, combined with the difficulty and danger of the task, has made the task challenging. The elephants refuse to leave the area and continue to feed on the local farmers’ crops.

Brave police officer thwarts attempted assault in broad daylight

A Bang Phli Noi Police Station officer, Yuttakorn Kao Kaeo, was heading to work on his motorcycle today when he spotted two teenagers signalling for help. The officer discovered a man, 38 year old Anek, attacking a 23 year old woman called A, in a nearby forest.

Young doctor, known online for his fight against cancer, dies

Dr Krittai Tanasombatkul, a doctor at the Clinical Epidemiology and Clinical Statics Department at the Faculty of Medicine of Chiang Mai University, who publicly announced that he had terminal lung cancer on his “Soo Deewa” (Let’s Fight) web page on November 10 last year, died today at 10.59am.
