Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Yeah, I see your point. It makes sense that Imm will want to see a certificate from every farang exiting Thailand that they've met with TRD, and gotten approval that their tax situation is in order. Of course, Imm will have to spend some time to determine whether or not the exiting farang is a tourist, or a Thai tax resident. Say, ten minutes to validate. Extra Imm personnel then needed, to alleviate the subsequent backlog of exiting flyers. Now, say there are 300,000 farang retirees in Thailand, of which only 10% have enough assessable income to bother TRD annually with filing a tax return. But, for the other 90% of farangs, who don't require filing a tax return -- they're now going to have to file a null tax return, in order to get a piece of paper allowing them to exit the country, or to renew their visa extension. So, TRD has to hire another 10,000 agents to process these 270,000 farangs -- but since these 270k farangs add exactly nothing to the tax coffers, those 10,000 new agents are just a blight on the efficiency of TRD -- at a huge cost.... ......nevermind. -

Is Earth round or flat ?
Real-time orbiting satellite footage of Earth, accessible 24/7 by the public on a dedicated website. That would settle matters and bring Flat-Earthers back to reason. One would think we would have the required technological means to do so by now. Apparently not… -

Is Earth round or flat ?
As mentioned, entering debate with a heliocentric denier enters the realms of preposterousness, ultimately 'just time wasting'... Its akin to arguing with someone who insists that planes cannot fly, while cruising at 35,000 feet. The very premise is absurd. You demand more than "sporadic accounts".... which, incidentally, are not evasive but simply rare. Rare in the same way it would be uncommon to haul a 100-tonne weight to the edge of the atmosphere and drop it, merely to demonstrate gravitational pull - the reasons are obviously cost and more than that the very common sense of 'there's just no point' or need to prove the obvious'... At a certain point, the discussion descends into sheer absurdity, like disputing the existence of oxygen while effortlessly inhaling it. -

Three 14-Year-Old Boys Killed in Motorbike Crash on Their Way to Celebrate End of Term
And I suspect that you have hit upon the most important aspect of all as far as Thai culture is concerned. Death is not the end as far as they are concerned. It's merely a transient stage until they are reborn. I've lived in my wife's village for 8 years now and seen many folks pass away, but there is no sense of loss or grieving. They go through the funeral rites, have a bit of a party, a few prayers and simply get on with their lives. -
