webfact
A mother-in-law fatally stabbed her daughter-in-law after enduring verbal abuse on a daily basis. The incident occurred at an unnamed apartment building in the Soi Nakhon Chai 1, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province at 6pm yesterday, January 5. At the crime scene – a five-storey apartment building – authorities discovered the body of 30 year old Titapa (surname withheld) lying in a pool of blood in front of room 405. Preliminary investigation revealed she was stabbed in the left chest with a sharp kitchen knife, leading to her death. A blood-stained knife was later found in the room. The apartment caretaker, 53 year old Sasithon revealed that the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were frequently quarrelling. The deceased was the only working member in the family while her husband was unemployed. Though they never defaulted on their room rent, it was often paid late. by Puntid Tantivangphaisal Photo courtesy of Sanook Full story: [source name + source link] 2024-01-06 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Joined up thinking absent yet again, as in 'if I kill her there'll be no income so maybe I should put the knife down, otherwise I'll have to leech off someone else'. 6 1
RobU
Interesting, it's usually the mother in law supported by her son who is the abuser.

NONG CHOK
Why didn't she bite the bullet and simply disappear, we have one in our family at the moment I told her as there's no kids involved just throw your gear into a bag, go to work and don't return. She may have to change her job etc but if she ever takes a chill pill she will be forever grateful for my advice. Incidentally her mother inlaw is a real piece of work. There's no chill pills in Thailand and when something happens they over react never thinking about the consequences before they strike.

peter zwart
RIP young lady. Wrapped up in a typical Thai situation. Mom-son-lazy-spoiled-no good for anything-prob drinking/gambling. Or is it to stereotype? 1

The article actually states that she was the only working member of the family. You should really refrain from making personal.attacks on other members 1

Why didn't the husband have a job? Unless he was very handicapped, there are plenty of jobs out there. Laziness is not considered a handicap. Maybe could get a job he didn't like, or maybe wanted more pay, but I would bet many of us have had to take jobs at some point that weren't ideal and didn't pay what we thought we were worth. Oh, and why didn't the mother in law have a job?
