If the emergency decree is lifted in some districts in the three southernmost provinces of Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani and replaced with the national security act, the atmosphere in the region would improve and become more conducive to problem-solving,” said Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsuthin today.

He was speaking after meeting with former Malaysian chief of defence forces, General Zulkifli Zainal Abidin, the chief facilitator of the peace negotiations between the Thai government and Barisan Nasional Revolusi (BRN) rebel groups, for discussions about the framework for the peace talks.

“The meeting was intended to build better understanding between Thai and Malaysian authorities involved in the peace negotiations.”

Try learning some local history before spouting the same garbage.

It's not mormons or baptists who have killed 7k innocent people in their Jihad over 25 years is it- its muslims, following the violent example of it's founder. Fact not garbage.

And if you had a scintilla of understanding you would know that it isn't a 'jihad', it's about recognising the injustice of a border imposed on communities without their having any say in the matter. Local leaders calls for at least a level of autonomy for the Patani region, and a recognition of the Jawi language, have long been ignored, resulting in a some resorting to violence as a means to force change. Yes the Patani region is predominantly Muslim, over 80%, but the conflict is about recognising the Thai-Malay community, it's language and culture, a community that has found itself part of Thailand rather than Malaysia, because of an agreement reached between the British Empire and the Kingdom of Siam 115 years ago in which they had no say.

If you had a scintilla of understanding the muslim mind and the islamic world you would know it is jihad. In Bukhari the fake prophet is quoted as stating ' I was victorious with terror'. That is how islam spread and they believe by following his violent example they can reach their aims, whether it is by spreading islam, attacking enemies (Oct 7th) or in these petty border and territorial disputes. Harking back to how things used to be is no excuse for murdering thousands of Thais. Thailand should never cave into these terrorist demands and threats.

Not much of an argument is it without some evidence. Stay away from Islam, where ever it spreads trouble, oppression and misery follow.

Evidence of what? Have you ever lived in a Muslim country, do you ever socialise with Muslims, have you even talked to a Muslim?!

Yes for all three and my conclusion is that islam is supremacist, non integrating, violent and uncompromising. What good can you expect from a religion founded by a thief, killer, slave owner, rapist and child abuser? Although there are many decent muslims that does not alter any part of the hideous ideology they believe in, often in ignorance. It's the religion, not the followers who as as much victims of it as the rest of us, Shia and Suni even hate each other!

My Mate Cham, a muslim!

Another Thai muslim Baowee like Cham good in spite of the ideology they follow

Did you ever bother reading the Koran? If you did (I have) you would know you are just very naive. Killing anyone who is not Muslim is totally OK. Democracy is not. Religion stay above elections and fee choice
