Why do I pay 700 Baht to 3BB when I can use mobile internet for 2000 Baht/year?

Recommended Posts

Currently I'm paying 700 baht/month to 3BB for home internet.

But I also have internet in the telephone, which costs me 2000 Baht/year.

So I could just share my mobile internet at the home and stop paying 3BB? Or maybe buy another SIM card with yearly internet and use some router that can handle SIM cards? It's not only about money, but I also have a lot of issues with 3BB and I have to every month drive to pay for it in cash. I just like my yearly mobile internet better.

Does anybody use it like that?

Have a look at True.

I'm on a 700 odd Baht a month package, internet / TV package / some other box with all sorts on it ( Youtube, Prime, netfix etc ) and a mobile sim.

The only additional bill I get is when I phone the UK on the mobile. Which isn't very often

I use Mobile Internet exclusively

Consider the NT Wireless Thunder SIM as your first port of call. Unlimited data, speed not capped @ 999 baht per annum. But it is NOT for mobile use, but a fixed point. So if you have a good LTE Band 40 signal at home, you are set.

I pay 460 ish a month on a 2 year contract and that includes TV they even offer me 10% off that if I pay upfront (which I don't do) - so look for a deal with them

Where did you obtain this setup?

But your mobile contract has a limit in Gb/month no ? Limit that normally we don't have on a router (3BB or else) - Also payment via mobile app, confirmed and easy.

Test both services via a browser.

Go to speedtest.net and find out how they both perform.

My mobile network gets maybe 40Mbps - often less - and the ping test is about 40ms delay.

My 3BB fibre gives me close to 500Mbps consistently and about 9ms ping delay.

And I could pay extra and get 1GBps with 3BB fibre.

Emails and Facebook etc -  OK to use mobile.

Movies and IPTV etc - fibre is the way to go.

Speedtest.net is useless in these scenarios. Stop recommending it.
https://testmy.net/ is more reliable.

Why would he need to test them? Do you think he doesn’t know that 3BB is faster?

Why are you writing nonsensically? I use my mobile connection for streaming media. Are you suggesting that 40 Mbps is only suitable for ‘Email and Facebook etc’?

You are literally making it up as you go along 😊

I am on the 3BB Bht 700+ VAT package 'out in the jungle'. Get 1Gb/sec download, very few faults, optic direct to my router which is included. Using a mobile SIM would probably be a lot slower depending on where you are and how many other people are on it. Just watched Napoleon in 4K via an Android app and Bluestacks. Doubt whether that is possible on a SIM.

I pay via Bkk Bank Internet Banking.

same here, no idea why he has to go in person, maybe doesn't have bank account 555

I  pay mine annually and I think they give me a discount for that...

3bb is used for my computer/internet use in the house... the telephone would not be a substitute for that...

I am so sorry that you did not realise this is a forum where people state their opinions.

Please insert IMO in front of any comments I or others make.

Dont speak on other's behalf - how do you know he knows or does not know anything.

Thanks for confirming that you don’t know what you are talking about. There are quite a few threads confirming what I assert with regard to mobile broadband speed tests and Speedtest.net.
Take a look for yourself or remain… uninformed. Up to you.
Mine isn’t a opinion, yours is.
As to what he knows… read his OP.
