At 11:30 a.m. on February 15th, Mr. Sutin Klungsang, the Minister of Defense, publicly stated after the council meeting regarding the protection measures of institutions following an incident where student activists obstructed the eldest Princess Sirindhorn’s procession.

The council meeting discussed the case in which Ms. Thantawan “Tawan” Tuatulanon, a 20-year-old student activist, and her friends, obstructed the Her Princess procession. The case was closely monitored, with all relevant military units instructed to stay vigilant and prevent future incidents.

Rear Admiral Thanitphong Sirisawetsak, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, further stated that traffic still operated normally for all people during the royal motorcades. It was reported that during the royal motorcades, the police had not blocked the road and allowed traffic to operate normally in the past as well.

As usual in Thailand, very small things are being blown up out of propotion. In fact nothing really happened as blowing a horn.. The consequences however are much worse as we could see already with a clash earlier this week. Why not keep it small, reprimand the hornblower and leave it. But now a fugutive is getting parole for much more and the hornblower is even being denied bail...

There are much bigger issues to dela with and solve the problems than this case. Spend your time and energy to those things instead of wasting time for a small incident.

It is of utmost importance that Royal personages be protected from disrespectful horn-blowers. I suggest that the Royal family (and other VIPs) use helicopters instead of cars to get around. Thus, no interruption to normal traffic and no chance that the Royals/VIPs will have to put up with the awful sound of scooter/car horns far below them (far below in every sense).
