Gang Violence/indiscriminate Shooting Reported In Chiang Mai ?

According to tonights news on MCOT channel, there has been gang violence in Chiang Mai within the last couple of days. I only caught the tail-end of the report but I'm sure it will be repeated.

Footage shows running battles between armed youths in the street with some guy walking around with a handgun indescriminately shooting.

Someone posted the above today in a thread about violence in Thailand in the General section of thaivisa.

Can anyone confirm the report or elucidate at all ?

Are you sure this is new news? Reason I ask is at Songkran there is a video showing a group of kids having a go at it and a guy waving his gun around and shooting in the air. Believe near Chiangmai Gate.

Not sure at all, Tywais - just quoting another poster who posted today & stated "within the last few days", but also stated s/he had only caught the tail end of the report.
