ChipButty Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Manchester United Manager Tommy Docherty welcomes new signing Steve Coppell to Old Trafford back in 1975 1
ChipButty Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 - Mourinho openly criticised him - Solskjaer said he should focus on football - Rangnick said he can leave the club - Ten Hag dropped him but also defended him for so many disciplinary issues - Now Amorim has dropped him after a month in charge How Rashford got away with it since 2016 is actually crazy. I’m glad that Amorim is a very intelligent and well informed person because he would have been Rashford’s next victim.
RickG16 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 How are we chaps? I only saw the goals but that looked like a schoolboy game last night.
garygooner Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Poor keeping, playing out from the back & Martinez failing to clear. Both sides have defensive issues.
RickG16 Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 What about the present era Chip Butty? How are we so bad? Any chance of signings in January?

Looks like a really bad move getting rid of the incredible shot stopper De Gea. Onana looks like he's diving out of the way half the time. Against Bournemouth they only had 5 shots on target and scored 3 of them (although no real clangers from Onana on that occasion). United actually played OK in terms of possession and creating chances. But their finishing and defending was poor, which is kind of important in the Premier League. I'm still predicting an eighth place finish. They're miles off. 1 2
ChipButty Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 A Man United fan walks into a travel agents to book a holiday in the UK "Where's the best place to go?" said the United fan “You can't beat Bournemouth” the travel agent replied 1
JonnyF Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Bad loss to relegation rivals Wolves last night. Onana deals with crosses the same way as Dracula.
NE1 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 De Gea was the same , especially in his early days , but he was a bit on the " thin side ". Onana looks heavier and stronger but is reluctant to get a fist or hand to the ball , he is getting bullied on set pieces. He needs to start throwing his weight about.
ChipButty Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Boxing Day in 1963 produced some crazy results! 1
JonnyF Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Bad loss to Newcastle. The first half hour was comical. Can stop crosses and can't defend them when they arrive in the box. They don't even look like they are trying to. Liverpool and Arsenal next. Ruben Amorin looking like Ruben Interim. I remember when Fergie left people said they would become the new Liverpool. That seems like a dream now. Liverpool never sunk to these depths post their 80s era of domination. What top player manager would go there now? It's like a graveyard for careers. They are too good to go down but they are years off competing with the well managed clubs. Sad to see such a decline.
NE1 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Probably should have given RVN a chance , I watched his Leicester side play Man City and they played some good football . Okay they lost , but they were creating chances. On another note , it might be good for United to get relegated and have a clear out and let him bring in his own players , cos' at the moment he is still trying to get Ten Haag's players to play . I reckon there is a bit of an upheaval in the dressing room at the moment , and something has to give.
garygooner Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Utd fans are going to have to continue to be patient They should stick with Amorim, but it's going to take a few 'good' transfer windows to sort out the mess. Probably finish 10 - 12th. 1
EmmaH Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Excellent draw against Liverpool. This should give everyone some confidence heading into the upcoming games.
NE1 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Like defeating Man city did . 😀 It's no good play ing well against the top teams if you are getting beat by the also rans.
garygooner Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Utd actually looked like a team. Well organized & effort. Mainoo & Ugarte midfield so much better. Still need a number of new players, but that could be something to build on.

ChipButty Posted January 6 Posted January 6 3 hours ago, NE1 said: Haven't seen the match , what way were they robbed ? OK the penalty I'll not argue with that but 5 minutes later VVD did a similar thing that didn't ever get look at, However, VAR should have similarly intervened for Nunez's deliberately and cowardly assault on de Ligt.
JonnyF Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Tough game against relegation rivals Southampton coming up. United really need a win to start pulling away from the bottom quarter of the league. Let's hope the second half of the season is better than the first. 1 1
NE1 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Lucky last night , Harry was well offside when he headed in the winner.
JonnyF Posted Wednesday at 02:29 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:29 AM Should be a good game against Everton. Two evenly matched sides, although Everton on a good run of form. Hopefully United can pick up a point to maintain their distance from the bottom 3.
