The ongoing deal referred to in my post has nothing to do with Rafah.

Whether Rafah goes ahead also depends on how the talks go in Washington as the US is going to be offering some more targeted options to get Hamas in Rafah rather than full invasion.

US to focus on Rafah in upcoming Israel talks

The U.S. is set to present Israel with alternative options for targeting Hamas that does not involve a risky incursion into Rafah, which would come with a high humanitarian cost. American officials that spoke to The Times of Israel said that Washington will propose securing the Egypt-Gaza border as an alternative to the ground campaign. Under the proposal, Israel would focus on preventing weapons that could rearm Hamas militants from being smuggled over the border. “This isn’t just us saying, ‘No you can’t do it.’ We’re saying that we’re willing to work with you on viable alternatives that still help you achieve your objectives,” one official said.

Blinken says negotiations to a deal are 'getting closer' amid looming Rafah operation

'We can think of Rafah in terms of whether and how we go... Maybe we can do limited operations that go hand-in-hand with what the U.S wants from us,' says Lt. Col. (Res.) Doron Avital

Okay, well one can only hope the civilians will be spared. Given Netanhyahu's track record and rhetoric, there is reason to be skeptical, unfortunately.

CNN interviews Netanhyahu supporter and settler leader Daniella Weiss.

The grandmother who wants to lead Israelis back to a Gaza without Palestinians

"No Arab, I’m speaking about more than two million Arabs. They will not stay there,” Weiss said. “We Jews will be in Gaza.”

A poll in January from The Jewish People Policy Institute found that 26% of Israelis advocate for the reconstruction of the Gush Katif settlements after the war is over. Among supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing coalition government, the number jumps to 51% compared to 3% for supporters of the opposition.

LOL. That would either entail israeli troops inside Gaza forever, and the US has already said that is unacceptable, or israeli troops in Egypt. Somehow, I think Sisi might have a disagreement with that.

You don't really believe Hamas are going to walk out with their hands up do you? The US is trying to stop an invasion of Rafah no matter what. That means Israel will have to accept a peace deal. It is not a reasonable option for them to invade or bomb Rafah with any kind of large scale military operation. The Israelis are intent on retribution. That's a subhuman motivation. The world sees it that way. 30,000 dead people is enough.

You don't really believe Hamas are going to walk out with their hands up do you?

No. You said that not me.

Here is what I said: "Given Hamas record there is a massive reason to be skeptical"

Noted you managed to get in a vile dig calling the Israelis sub human.

Ah so I am not on your ignore list anymore. Great look forward to some tantalizing debates with you. As for your opinion on this matter, sorry I have no idea what your talking about as none of that was mentioned in the post.

The jackpot at Shifa that keeps giving, expected to last a few more days.

IDF says 650 terror operatives captured at Shifa, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad commanders

The IDF and Shin Bet security agency say troops have captured some 650 terror operatives during the ongoing operation at Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, including several senior Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad commanders.

The Islamic Jihad operatives holed up at the medical center surrendered to troops, the IDF says.

Among them were Hussam Salameh, the commander of PIJ’s observation and intelligence unit in Gaza City, and his brother, Wissam Salameh, head of the terror group’s propaganda unit in Gaza City, according to the IDF.

"They," the radical, right-wing faction of which Netanyahu's government is a member, do want the eradication and elimination of the Palestine nation so Israel can totally occupy what it thinks is its literally God-given right to own.

There will always be those who want Israel to share (or divide up) this land with the Palestinians who were living there before the state of Israel was created.

Not sure where from you got the idea that Israel want to occupy Gaza, a link to that claim would be helpful,

The world, This world, has a problem with Jews, and for centuries, every possible attempt was done to eliminate

the Jewish people, starting from the pharaohs of Egypt all the way to modern times and I'm not going to list

here the countries, empires, nations and powers that tried and almost succeeded,

Hundreds of millions around the world hate Jews, ask them why and you'll get a nonsensical reply,

most of them never met a Jew in their lives of can point on the map where Israel or Gaza is,

they hate because this is what the world did and still do,

Back to Gaza, Israel will go all the way to destroy those who aim to destroy it, and the hell with anyone

who has pity on terrorists, rapist and murderess...

Famine in northern Gaza is imminent as more than 1 million people face ‘catastrophic’ levels of hunger, new report warns

CNN — Famine is imminent in northern Gaza where 70% of the population are already suffering with catastrophic levels of hunger, a UN-backed report said Monday, as the EU’s top diplomat accused Israel of using “starvation as a weapon of war.”

The crisis has been described as “entirely man-made” and “preventable” due to Israel’s throttling of aid and widespread destruction of Gaza.

Aid delivery by sea and air was only necessary because the “natural” way of delivering aid by land was “artificially closed” by Israel, he added.

How these people can use words like "sub human" after the Nazis used it to describe Jews is a mystery to all decent human beings.

Why Egypt won't allow vulnerable Palestinians across its border:

You have just validated what Adams has said, the interviewer asked Adams about Israel and he retorted "why don't you ask about Egypt and the interviewer (apparently she is an Al Jazeera reporter) would not answer it. So given your post doesn't answer why the interview with Adams was clap trap after all, can we assume it wasn't.

And to add insult to injury you use a left wing news source biased against Israel.

NPR has been criticized for perceived bias in its coverage of Israel and the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.[4][5][6][7] The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA), a pro-Israel American media monitoring organization based in Boston, has been particularly critical of NPR.

Too late, they have enough bombs to level Rafah as it is. Diplomatic pressure is the only way out now.
