Popular Post webfact Posted March 12 Popular Post Share Posted March 12 Phuket –A Chinese man was arrested at Phuket International airport after he allegedly did not pay an employee of his in Patong. The Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that this week they arrested the wanted suspect, a 49 years old Chinese man, he was arrested at the International Departures Terminal in the airport while he was trying to leave Phuket. He is being accused of not paying a salary to an employee and breaking Thai employment laws. He was taken to the Patong Police Station for further legal action. What surprises me more is that there was a case made for this prior to his arrest to put him on a watchlist for leaving the country. Surely, there is no proof money was not paid to the worker. Payroll requirements Cash payments require a written receipt with the employee's signature. Bank transfers to Thai employees can be made from foreign bank accounts.
