The opposition Move Forward party is facing a tough case in the Constitutional Court, but will fight to the fullest to prevent the party from being dissolved for allegedly attempting to overthrow the Constitutional Monarchy, said party leader Chaithawat Tulathon today.

He said that he hopes the court will hold an enquiry and give the party an opportunity to present evidence and witnesses to prove that they have no intention to overthrow Constitutional Monarchy with its campaign and proposed amendments of Section 112 of the Criminal Code, or the lèse majesté law.

Chaithawat said that dissolving the party would not solve political problems, but may lead to the escalation of political conflict. He also warned against involving the Monarchy in political conflict, saying that this is a very sensitive issue and should be treated with caution.

Even though it will look bad to the larger world, the CC must dissolve MFP for their brazen attempt to reform the Monarchy. It might be a close vote, but a Court whose members were appointed by the King is unlikely to vote for a party that seeks such reforms.

They must be made to suffer if only to discourage pesky peasants from rising up again.

A significant percentage of the 14 million people who voted for MFP support reforms, but they just don't know what's best for them.

That won't happen.

It's not obvious to me who's pulling the strings on all the many puppets in all of this.

People talk about the Army calling the shots but, if the 2 generals beginning with P who ostensibly ran the country for several years are anything to go by, the Army lacks basic nous to be able to do anything much. Designing the kind of complex laws that make progress impossible takes a certain kind of perverted genius to achieve. Working your way thru the thickets of political & financial corruption takes another kind of genius. So who are the highly-skilled planners who pull it all together and have the authority to impose it on the whole jerry-built system of interacting and conflicting interests?

They operate in the shadows and use puppet ministers and PM's to do their bidding.

Sadly but perhaps more realistic and simplistic from the perspective of Thailand's history of national security and political conflict since 1932 that the state give up the idea of a constitutional government and return to a form of absolute rule where there can be no legally organized opposition?

I disagree it will always keep coming back in one form or another.

FA Forward Again party, KMF Keep Moving Forward party, Forward will always be there hopefully. IMO

Every time they are dissolved and return under a different guise, it weakens them and sets them back.

They don't have the same cult of personality that Thaksin had back in the early 00's, as they will never be given the chance to lead.

Thanathorn better keep dipping into his billionaire bank account to keep them going, but will he get bored?

They were progressive.

It is revealing that the ultra-royalists were somewhat silent on the subject of reforms during the election run-up.

Only after the public expressed a strong desire to support reforms did the royalists mount an attack.

15 June 2020...

Prayut said HM King told him not to use lese majeste laws against civilians; opposition calls for its abolishing

King Vajiralongkorn has instructed the Thai government not to use Section 112 of the Thai Criminal Code, or the lèse-majesté law, to prosecute civilians, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said on Monday.

“You can see that today that we have not been using 112 at all.” he told reporters on Monday, “You know why? It was because the King was kind enough to instruct that it should not be used.”

Thailand’s lese majeste laws protect the monarch and his immediate family from insult. Those found in violation could face up to 15 years in prison.

Its a collective of chosen shadowy figures who meet in the protected inner sanctum of guilded halls under the veil of darkness. They  have signed in blood to uphold their one mission and one mission only; to protect the source of their wealth and power at all costs.

Sounds like somehting from Star Wars but its not!

In my time here I have experienced varying degrees of competence and capability amongst the locals mostly leaning to the mid to lower end of the spectrum with some exceptions.

However, when it comes money or power and even loss of face, their ability to pull off the impossible through shameless scheming, collusion and cunning knows no bounds.

To answer your question though, simply put, they are the Dark Force!

Yikes!

That would be a MASSIVE violation of the law.

We're constantly told that the monarchy is above politics. So to suggest a political party seek an audience with the monarch would likely lead to immediate arrest and incarceration.

IMO Every time they are dissolved and return under a different guise, they come back stronger than before, and makes them stronger and pushes them forward.

Despite Thailand conducting democratic elections it seems the bigwigs have no idea whatsoever of what democracy is all about. They are still back in a previous Century. Your people have spoken. Haven't you heard them?

It is very difficult to hear people when your head and ears are buried in the sand.

With Anutin’s little gang of money followers also looking at being dissolved, you can see the aim (Thaksin’s?) is for Thailand to become a one party state……welcome to the new Russia/China.
