webfact Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin led the inauguration of a comprehensive volunteer initiative to purify the waterways across Bangkok, targeting 50 districts and 200 canals. The endeavor celebrates the 72nd birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Rama the 10th this year. Adorned in the official volunteer uniform—a yellow shirt, yellow scarf, and a blue cap—bestowed by the royalty, the Prime Minister symbolized the solidarity between government officials and the public in executing social welfare tasks and fostering national pride. During the ceremony, Prime Minister Srettha articulated the King's noble vision for enhancing the well-being of the Thai people and the country's flourishing future. He highlighted the project's goals to foster societal love and unity and to establish a pristine and secure environment for the populace. Key activities of this initiative include debris removal, aquatic weed clearance, sidewalk painting and cleaning, and beautifying the canal surroundings to transform them into safe communal areas of the Phra Nakhon district. The collective contribution of all sectors, along with the dedication of volunteers and community members, is vital for the project's triumph. by Naark Rojanasuvan Source: NNT 2024-03-23 - Discover how Cigna Insurance can protect you with a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment. Do you really think he actually dug the hole or planted the tree which is pictured? Whilst the poster you were responding to may have been a little acerbic in his initial comment your future responses appear, being polite, somewhat disingenuous 2

ourmanflint Posted March 23, 2024 Posted March 23, 2024 You don't clean the waterways by "cleaning the waterways" you do it by providing infra so that the waterways do not get polluted in the first place. *That* is the PM's job not dressing up and playing in the dirt

zhounan Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 I approve the decision. But, why appeal on the heart of the volunteers when you can pay hundreds of workers and give them a living for some months?
recom273 Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Why does he not just order the local government employees who are paid to do it, to go out and clear the waterways? maybe oversee an audit to determine that all the money that is assigned to infrastructure projects is spent on the projects. I wonder how long his term as a volunteer lasted?
