This will benefit 575,983 students attending 7,344 schools across the country. Karom Pholpornklang, the deputy government spokesman, said that the program will cover 6,855 schools under the supervision of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, 376 under the Local Administration Department, 109 schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and four schools run by the Border Patrol Police. With an annual budget of Bt2.95 billion, he said that the average budget for lunch per head is Bt24 per day for the 200 days of the academic year.
