RFK Jr. argues that Biden is a bigger threat to democracy than Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, sparked controversy on Monday when he argued that President Joe Biden poses a greater threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump. Speaking on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," Kennedy claimed that Biden's administration is using federal agencies to censor political speech, thereby undermining the First Amendment.

Kennedy's remarks were prompted by his own experiences of being blocked on social media platforms during the Biden administration, which he views as a form of political censorship. Despite being reinstated on Instagram after announcing his presidential campaign, Kennedy has been embroiled in legal battles over issues of censorship and freedom of speech.

The independent candidate highlighted his removal from social media platforms and his legal challenges as evidence of Biden's efforts to suppress political opposition. He argued that Biden's actions represent a dangerous precedent that threatens the fundamental rights enshrined in the First Amendment.

Kennedy's assertions drew swift criticism from the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which rejected any comparison between Biden and Trump. DNC senior adviser Mary Beth Cahill dismissed Kennedy's claims as "MAGA talking points" and emphasized the stark contrast between Biden's leadership and Trump's divisive rhetoric and actions.

Despite facing criticism from some members of his own family, including concerns about potentially undermining Biden's candidacy, Kennedy remains steadfast in his presidential ambitions. He maintains that neither Biden nor Trump adequately address key issues such as the national debt and foreign wars, which he views as existential threats to democracy.

Kennedy's candidacy, while drawing on his family's legacy, has encountered skepticism and opposition from both political opponents and some members of his own family. However, he remains undeterred in his quest to challenge the status quo and advocate for what he believes are critical reforms needed to restore democracy and moral authority in the United States.

There you go spouting hate and lies again... the case is still in the works and so far...   the quote from Kennedy is apocryphal. It first appeared in a copypasta post Snopes debunked in November 2020.

Interesting that RFK Jr. is free to espouse his beliefs on a wide variety of platforms: Joe Rogan, this CNN interview, hundreds of other interviews and podcasts, yet somehow the Biden Administration interfering.

Trump signs executive order targeting social media companies

President Donald Trump signed an executive order targeting social media companies on Thursday, days after Twitter called two of his tweets “potentially misleading.”

The move was widely seen by critics as retaliation against Twitter’s decision to slap fact-checking labels on the president’s tweets.

The order came two days after Twitter, for the first time, added warning links to two of Trump’s tweets, inviting readers to “get the facts.”

RFK Jr. has a good point.

There is nothing Democratic about having someone with insufficient cognitive function as a figurehead of a political party while others pull his strings.

There is nothing Democratic about supporting the legal system removing your political rivals either.

We are both saying Biden is a threat to Democracy.

I am simply supplying additonal arguments to support his view.

Hope that's OK? 😄

From what you're saying, it appears RFK Jr. appeals to many Trump supporters.  Which would make him more of a threat to Trump.  Duly noted.

RFK , a man misunderstood, with a lot to offer. Deep state hate his so much he'd be dead at the hands of the CIA if he ever came to be near office. A poor campaign though, especially in the media, where he never rates a mention. My hope is that he'll rob votes off Biden with a good anti-war campaign.

One has to wonder why so many obvious nutcases make it to the level of being a candidate for the American presidency. Some even succeed.

What's going on over there?

Unfortunately the Biden administration is too incompetent and cowardly to at least administer the rule of law. And that's why the plotter of a failed coup is allowed to run for the presidency again, like nothing ever happened.

Incompetence and cowardice.

And if you, or anyone else, believe all charges against Trump are fabrications, why not let judge and jury decide about that. The American way.

Instead, Trump and his clan are delaying and delaying, while threatening everyone, from judges to witnesses.

It is a broken nation, on the decline. And the office is so toxic, and the campaigning  is so horrific, that anybody noble or righteous would have no interest in putting themselves or their families through the process.

Therefore the process only attracts the dregs.

Perfect! Keep up the good work, Bobby, Jr!

He and trump will be competing for the batsh!t crazy vote. He can be the Ross Perot to George H. W. Bush or the Ralph Nader to Al Gore.

I can see trump having to up his Crazy Game in order to take away from RFK, Jr. Siding with QAnon (kidnap, rape, roast and eat babies) is not crazy enough anymore. Come on, donny, don't let RFK beat you to warning us about 10' Shape-shifting Green Lizard People from the rogue planet Nibiru.

As for Biden being a threat to democracy, silly. Biden won the popular and EC vote, which is democracy. And if a booming economy, low UE, new chip plants and a rebuilding infrastructure are a 'threat to democracy', molon labe!

Run, Bobby, Run!

so sad about us

Man what a shtshow the US political landscape is. It's like a competition of who can shout the loudest nonsense wins. Logic and facts went out the window. Quite scary to be honest. I thought Idiocracy was satire but turns out it was indeed a look into the future.

Also nothing democratic about dumping ballots at 3 am until you get the desired election result.
