Recently when applying for a Non-O Visa (by Marriage) extension, we were told to "update" our Kor Ror 22 Marriage Cert that was issued 12 years ago at our Amphur in Bangkok.

1. What documents do we need to bring for this "update" at the Amphur?

2. I recalled that we needed 2 Thai witnesses when we first applied for the Kor Ror 22 twelve years ago; do we need any witnesses for this update?

3. Do I need to go through the hassles of securing (a) my home country's Foreign Ministry to authehticate my marriage cert  (b) get the Thai Embassy at my home country to translate my marriage cert.

4. Any other documentation needed?

Appreciate any advice and guidance. Thanks.

A marriage in a foreign country between Thai nationals or between a Thai national and a foreigner may legally take effect according to the form prescribed by Thai law or by the law of the country where it takes place. If being legally married abroad, there is no need to register your marriage again in Thailand, but a need to report and update the status of the Thai national.

A visit to the Thai embassy in your location will be required to have your marriage certificates authenticated or certified. Once in Thailand, the Thai national needs to visit the district office in her hometown to update the status and obtain Kor Ror 22. The said document shall serve as proof of your legal marriage registration.

Anyone has the list of requirements for the yearly extension of Non-immigrant O marriage visa?

old requirements from ubon joe, mostly still valid, some updates have been added

These are general requirements and may vary at different offices.

Unless you are applying at Bangkok you will need 2 sets of copies attached to 2 TM7

application forms.

Wife needs to be with you

Proof of 400k baht in the bank for 2 months by way of a letter from your bank and

your bank book, Or 40k baht income, Proven by a income letter from most embassies.( except USA,UK and Australian, 12 x monthly income of at least 40,000thb showing in Thai bank)

Copies of your passport photo page and every page that has any stamp or visa for

Thailand on it.

if you have one, A copy of TM6 departure card.

Marriage certificate and a updated Kor Ror 2 marriage registry (Kor Ror 22 for

foreign marriages)

Copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.

Photos of you and your wife in and around the house. One must show you both with the house number shown in it. The number of photos needed varies by office.

Map to your residence from the nearest main road or street.

Proof of residence if not living where your wife's house book is for.

Some offices may want witnesses when you apply

A lot depends on which Immigration office you use.

Although in theory all offices are the same, some offices may ask for extra of different information.

The local office at Kamphaeng Phet Immigration requires 2 copies of each document, 1 for themselves and 1 for the regional office in Chiang Mai. Some larger offices may only require 1 copy, hence my query on the first line.

I have a copy (in English) of the one that I use at Kamphaeng Phet Immigration office. It is a Thai copy translated into English by a Thai/English law firm, BUT I am having a problem with MS office, so I opened it in MS, closed it again and reopened it again in Libre Office Calc.

My best advice for you is to visit your local office, ask them if they have a list of requirements for the marriage extension in English or Thai. You should be able to get a Thai version and then find an Thai/English law firm near you (on the internet) and ask if they can translate it for you. I think that mine cost me about 500 baht but that was a while ago.

If you still want a copy of mine I will post it.

I do my extension on monthly income, but Bangkok Bank can do 6 months on the spot or 12 months though you have to allow 3 working days, 200 baht for each set of statements and the letter. I normally order 3 copies, 1 for KPP, 1 for CM and 1 for me,

KPP prefer the statement and the bankbook updated on the day of the extension application, but other offices may be different.

I normally start my paper work about a month before I apply for the extension.

Good luck

Thank you all.

I am in Nonthaburi and this is my second yearly extension for the non-immigrant O marriage visa. Last year I used 400k but this year I go with monthly income. I registered a Thai company with my wife (51% : 49%) and have been receiving a monthly income for the last 14 months so I decided to go for that one.

Hopefully, I won't need to get confirmation from my embassy for working for a Thai company.

I am in taking photos phase now 🤗🤗🤗 and it is so enjoyable!

I will update everyone once it goes through. I know whatever I provide, they will ask for something new.

Here I found the official requirements: https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=1772

... and I am attaching the form here if someone needs it.

Cheers!
