Former President Trump's backing of Speaker Mike Johnson amid threats from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to force a vote on ousting him has injected further drama into the ongoing power struggles within the House GOP conference. Trump, a key figure in Republican politics, expressed his support for Johnson during a press conference, emphasizing that the Speaker is "doing a very good job" under challenging circumstances.

Standing alongside Johnson, Trump praised the Speaker's leadership, acknowledging the complexities of the position and affirming his confidence in Johnson's abilities. Despite Greene's motion to vacate, Trump's endorsement of Johnson signals a rift within the Republican Party, with the former president throwing his weight behind the current House leader.

Trump's remarks underscore the delicate balance of power within the GOP, as tensions between different factions continue to simmer. Greene's move to challenge Johnson's leadership adds another layer of uncertainty to an already volatile political landscape, with the potential for further division within the party ranks.

While Trump expressed his personal friendship with Greene, he made it clear that he believes Johnson is the right person for the job, emphasizing the importance of stability and continuity in leadership. However, Greene's intentions regarding the timing of the vote on her resolution remain unclear, leaving Johnson and the rest of the House in a state of uncertainty as they navigate critical legislative priorities.

As the House GOP grapples with internal strife, Trump's endorsement of Johnson sends a message to party members about the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of external challenges. Yet, with Greene's motion looming over the horizon, the future of GOP leadership remains uncertain, highlighting the ongoing power struggles within the party and the broader implications for its political direction.

Another words Mike is safe for the moment as long as he does trump’s bidding not necessarily what’s good for America the Russian/Republican Party is sinking fast in my personal opinion it bears little resemblance to what it was …..sad

Democrats have this great ability to accuse Republicans of the very things they do themselves. The false narrative they created from 2016 until 2019 was that Donald Trump, who has enjoyed all the blessings of this great country, decided at age 73 to become a Russian spy. One of his main accusers on any TV show that would have him was Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA). As all too often happens, it turned out our favorite finger pointer Swalwell had been consorting with a Chinese spy.

Trump has been playing with the Russians for 40 years:

In 1987, a young real estate developer traveled to the Soviet Union. The KGB almost certainly made the trip happen.

Johnson might simply decline to have Republicans participate in the certification vote, hoping to cancel it due to a lack of quorum.

On January 20, Biden's term would end, and Harris', so the 2nd in line would become president.

From the full article:

Johnson appeared alongside Trump for a press conference in Palm Beach, Fla., where the GOP leaders unveiled a bill that would ban non-U.S. citizens from voting, which is already illegal.

Trump is currently claiming that Biden won because millions of foreigners voted for him in 2020

GOP, the party of liars!

In Little Maga Mike's conversations with God, I wonder if he receives dispensation for lying, bearing false witness, and worshipping a false idol.

During his press conference with Trump, besides lying, he appeared to be swooning over his Messiah's every word and nodding his head like a bobblehead cat in agreement with every falsehood.

trumpers have this great ability to completely ignore reality.

They always seem to 'forget' that in his first week as Campaign Chair, Paul Manafort was sent to Spain to hand GRU asset Konstantin Kilimnik detailed internal polling data from trump's campaign.

"Somehow" that data reached the GRU's Internet Research Agency in St Pete, who then produced fake stories about HRC or other Dems and fed it to the social media accounts of specific voters in key Swing States.

Sadly, the then-coopted AG Barr controlled the narrative when Mueller completed his investigation, and also redacted key portions of the investigation. Later, however, the Repub-chaired SSCI issued a 1000 page report that carried the entire Manafort-Kilimnik link.  Much later, when the so-called Durham Investigation of the Investigators was ongoing, Durham 'decided' not to pursue the link, despite it being raised repeatedly with his team.

As for trump being a paid spy, that accusation did not come from Democrats, but rather from an open-mike chat between then-Speaker Paul Ryan and future Speaker Keven McCarthy. Dems used "witting fool", not paid spy, as the Kilimnik connection, inter alia, showed the cooperation between trump and Russia.
