In a candid interview with The Spectator's editor Fraser Nelson, former Prime Minister Liz Truss delves into her new memoirs and shares her insights on pressing global issues and political developments. Here are the highlights from the exclusive conversation:

1. Ukraine and Trump: Truss expresses her belief that Ukraine would be safer with Donald Trump at the helm, citing his actions as more significant than his rhetoric. She contrasts Trump's approach with what she perceives as weaknesses in the Biden administration's dealings with Iran and other authoritarian regimes.

2. Lee Anderson and the Conservative Party: Truss suggests that Lee Anderson should not have been expelled from the Conservative Party over his comments, expressing a desire for a more robust Conservative manifesto. She acknowledges the gap between the Tories and Reform UK in the polls, emphasizing the need for bolder policies.

3. Abolishing the Supreme Court: Truss criticizes the concentration of power in unelected bodies, advocating for the abolition of the Supreme Court. She highlights instances where she believes such institutions have hindered government policy implementation.

4. Mini-Budget and LDI Situation: Truss reflects on her decision to proceed with her mini-Budget despite being unaware of the vulnerability of the UK pension market to liability-driven investments (LDIs). She attributes this oversight to the Bank of England's failure to address underlying financial market issues.

5. Immigration: Truss agrees with her colleague Braverman on the need to reduce immigration but criticizes unrealistic targets set by Braverman. She points out practical challenges and discrepancies in the Office for Budget Responsibility's modeling.

Throughout the interview, Truss emphasizes the importance of strong leadership and decisive action in addressing complex challenges facing the UK and the world. Her insights shed light on her vision for a better conservatism and a stronger, safer future.

Truss bang on the money again.

With truth bombs like these, no wonder she was removed so quickly.

Biden has been a disaster. If he wasn't so dangerous to world peace you'd laugh but it's well beyond that.

He created more tension in middle east and made a terrible deal with taliban

She’s a barking.

Has she forgotten the events in Syria and Russia driving refugees into Europe while Trump sat back and let Putin do whatever he wanted.

Capitulation is not peace and has resulted in what capitulation always results in.

Oh and let’s not forget that bit about why Truss was really removed by her own party - fiscal insanity.

……

I recall a member of this forum posting that he fancied her.

Let that sink in.

The only thing Trump was good at, was telling people how clever and smart he was, and thats it. Big mouth only, friends with dictators, despots and terrorists.

Maybe, but I recall more than one ‘love’ emoji in response.

Her brief tenure was disastrous for the nation, she clearly lacks any  introspection, let alone sense of responsibility or guilt.

She’s barking.

Just thinking about this, she is right....the poor girl, finally she is right about something. Biden has brought us to the brink of WW3.....Trump didn't. Ergo she is correct.

How did Biden bring us to the brink of ww3?unless you are frightened by him standing up to dictating war criminals like Putin or standing with our ally Israel when they were attacked by hammas.obviously you prefer the tuck your tail and run style of the trump debacle sad 😞

Says the woman who left office after only 50 days.  I guess her comments are based on her time as Prime Minister.

Poor Liz indeed - as she said upon hearing news of the death of the queen, "why me?".

No doubt this site is moderated by Magats   I don't know who Liz Truss is and I don't care but she's full of s##T. Ask the NATO countries if the world was safer when the orange jackass  was in "charge"    Putin's puppet.   On further discovery 50 day PM  frightening   here's a thought from her book

She argues the greatest threat to the environment is "the rise of authoritarian regimes".     So I guess she wants the environment to be threatened.

you know you are talking to fools       they repeat garbled nonsense    maybe Liz Truss should watch donnies  "speech" about Gettysburg -yeah he should be president.   WTAF is wrong with people? donnie is a babbling idiot that saluted N Korean generals ,praises Orban ,shines Putin's shoes  and committed insurrection .I don't get the sheer stupidity, blindness and idiocy of people. Now if someone said I hate the US and Democracy I want donnie to win so I can laugh at the debacle well that would be more honest than the unadulterated BS they post.

Maybe someone else knows the answer but I can't think of a country that elects their Supreme Court, as in the whole country voting for the judges.

Please explain what she means.

Nope that's the orange guy.So Joe Biden invited the Taliban to Camp David -nope Donnie.joe and his SEc of State released thousands of Taliban prisoners nope    So Joe praised fat boy fascist from N Korea and kissed his arse? She's also very mealy-mouthed about the Supreme Court. She wants it replaced with The House of Lords, another unelected body but packed with Tory peers.
