Popular Post Expat Tom
If you were a foreigner and came into my neighborhood in the USA and caused problems you would be sadly mistaken if you thought you would be in a 1 v 1 fight. In fact, if you were from a rival school and started a fight in the wrong area you might be in for a butt Whoopin'. This isn't unique to Thailand or the USA. People who were fighting with each other moments before will ban together to jump on a miscredant outsider. The moral of the story. Don't be an ass. Play nice with others and don't disrespect LadyBoys unless you want a spiled high heel protrouding from your head. 1 1 3

Ladyboys tend to be very sensitive about this kind of thing and any perceived slight can set them off. We know they run in packs, so even just a moderate slap could invite some very significant repercussions. It's a pity your moral viewpoint isn't reciprocated when it comes to these freaks manhandling tourists against their will and thieving what they can. You're confusing morality (ethics) and moral of the story (lesson). There is nothing moral about what has happened here, but you should learn the moral lesson from it, even if it makes Thais look bad. 1

A transwoman involved in the attack claimed that prior to the video, the foreign man was driving around the area on his motorcycle and kicking people at random. Another witness said the man provoked the assault by causing a disturbance with the noise from his motorcycle. This witness also noted that the man had an injury to his head before the fight. Either he was very busy being annoying (not impossible), or these people re going to great lengths to concoct a story that justifies a savage and sustained attack.

Probably both 'men' were equally at fault, but the men in dresses attack in packs. *before I get lambasted by you know who for mentioning a Brit because his nationality isn't reported, I know what I'm doing.... 😉🤭🥱 It's funny the way that the "farang-bashers" and Thai apologists work. To them, this is probably a righteous beat down of the "farang scum" who was causing trouble, while the attack against the Thai tuk tuk driver who (allegedly) stole from the Brit was an unprovoked and vicious assault. It's pretty clear what's really going on. 2

Popular Post BangkokReady
It would be interesting to research into why ladyboys are so violent. I remember getting a few stitches in a local hospital when a couple of cops came through in a hurry. Apparently a guy tried to molest a girl/young lady. She reacted by smacking him in the head with her Stilleto shoe. Left a good hole and blood was everywhere. They found him hiding in a hospital toilet... blood trail was a giveaway. Stiletto is basically a blunt ice pick in structure… so you get a bigger hole on your head when hit only not as deep. 1

Isn't that just self defense and nothing barbarian about it No. A gang of people beating someone is not self-defence. It is an attack. Most people don't launch a gang assault against someone simply for disrespecting their friend, hence it is barbaric. You sound like you would attack a single person in a gang with weapons, so that's probably why you can't see why most people have a problem with this.

In just the last couple of days, you should have learnt to stay away from Thai tuk-tuk drivers and, if you have to use them, give them the exact change, and, now, you've learnt to stay away from Thai ladyboys. (Or really just stay away from any Thais involved in the tourist industry outside tour guides and hotel staff.)

I remember that a few years back, a similar altercation ended in the foreigner dying, the heel having punched through the skull. This would be indeed an attack with a potential deadly weapon. I wonder if we will read more about it, as indentity of the katoey must be clear to police.
