A lot of money dumped down the drain. I wonder how much of the investment was borrowed and how much will be lost? Can't Thai lawmakers think more than one week ahead?

And yet the majority of cannabis sold in Thailand is US grown

a year ago yes. both your links are way out of date. the market has dramatically changed since then.

Why is US-grown cannabis cheaper than Thai cannabis? Labour costs must be higher, then there are transportation costs. I can't imagine the growers with licences, such as Ultra Health, Mammoth Farms, Palo Verde Center, Copperstate Farms, Cresco labs etc, will want to get involved with shadey practices involving fruit imports, hollowed furniture.

it's really not that complicated. hollowed out furniture hahaha. it's cannabis not cocaine or heroine. do you know the volume of both legal and illegal cannabis grown in california ? it's incredible. a number of years ago a canadian licensed producer was caught with a room they never reported to the government. they were selling it all out the back door to the black market.

corruption at both ends and bobs your uncle. you can get a pound of cannabis in cali for about 300 usd.

Can't leave well enough alone. Gotta screw up what they've already approved. Got it right the first time, now it's time to pull the classic Thai ploy of destroying progress.  It's been the Thai way down through history "ready, fire, aim".

1st April right? This government has shown it is very bad at sticking to self imposed deadlines. Digital wallet anyone?

Oops the April mop

isn't that weird that Asian (if not the world) most famous tourists destination is now anti-recreational?

anyway I don't mind getting sick as long as I get my share of peace of mind, lol

Your comments mean nothing without sources, and so will be disregarded. Your comment on prices in (presumably) California is irrelevant. Your comment on the 2019 Canntrust incident is irrelevant in 2024. Please cite more recent examples to support your supposition that US publicly traded companies are routinely involved in the evasion of Thai customs law to place cheap product on the market. Name these companies.

people/individuals are the ones doing the importing for the most part.
