A Thai doctor has been accused of sexually assaulting a pregnant woman during a prenatal consultation at a clinic in Samut Prakarn province, near Bangkok. The 25-year-old expectant mother, identified as Bee, and her 28-year-old husband have enlisted the support of non-profit group Saimai Survive, to help seek justice.

During her visit to the clinic on April 27th, Bee alleges that the doctor, whose name has not been disclosed, instructed her to unbutton her trousers, before improperly touching her and posing inappropriate questions about her sex life. Bee's husband was unable to accompany her to the appointment due to work commitments.

In her recount of the affair to Saimai Survive and the press on May 9, Bee detailed how the doctor, sans gloves, performed a second vaginal examination, with inappropriate touching and questionable justification. Post examination, the doctor suggested Bee looked tired and advised her to take saline before leaving.

Subjected to inappropriate breast-touching, Bee was left confused when the doctor claimed his actions necessary for evaluating natural fertility and breast milk production. Advised to return for a milk duct check-up on May 25, Bee sought advice from friends, including pregnant and nurse acquaintances, who agreed the doctor's actions were highly unconventional and improper.

Bee and her husband have now turned to Saimai Survive, both to take legal action against the doctor and to raise awareness about the potential for sexual misconduct during medical examinations. While a police report has not yet been filed, efforts are on to bring the concerned doctor to account.

Surely that's what doctors do, touch you and ask questions. init?

100% - the Drs are not doing their job properly unless they ask these questions & make a professional examination.

This is a very odd accusation.

But…  she may well have been examined before & is familiar with the process & identified that this Dr went too far perhaps?

Obviously at 25yr doesn't understand how and what a prenatal consultation consists of.  Try going to a Hospital not one of these clinics.

Disgraceful that a male doctor, of any nationality, should have the authority and the ability to examine a woman in such a way, when no female nurse is present.

It definitely smacks of sexual gratification and he should be charged accordingly.

To avoid those incidents and accusation doctors are strictly advised to do those examinations only in presence of a nurse as witness. 🙏

If it's this type of examination should a nurse/witness be present?

Same applies.

Well I have been anally probed, and no nurse was present. The obvious gay doctor was grinning when I looked round.

This statement alone makes me believe this woman got excited from what the doctor was doing and maybe even had an orgasm hence the tired look. However, the things she said the doctor did seem normal. vaginal check and breast check and nipple check are normal. Even a woman doctor would do them to their patient to ensure not only her ability to give birth but her progression in the pregnancy as well. My wife pregnant 3 times had all of this done in a government hospital as part of her check-up during pregnancy and it was all done by a female doctor with a nurse present as well.
