Very obviously Russia is winning.

I think you should listen to our shining leader more attentively.
Who said we are winning? All these beautiful people who are earning money from American social networks?
What Putin said so many times? "You can't trust anyone but me" About the war:"We haven't even started yet".
So, it is necessary for you to just trust our great leader to understand that what is happening is nothing to do with winning.

"Moscow said its troops had taken control of the village of Mezhove in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, and that they had beaten back an attempt by a Ukrainian force to infiltrate its border in a different region to Kyiv's Aug. 6 incursion.

Ukrainian authorities say Russian troops are now just 10 km (six miles) outside Pokrovsk, an important transport hub in eastern Ukraine, and this week started evacuating elderly residents and children.

Everyone is in panic, people are running away," Liudmyla Sydorenko told Reuters on Thursday as she packed a 94-year-old relative's belongings into plastic bags at their apartment so that she could be evacuated.
"I went outside and was shocked: people with paper boxes there, mass evacuation. We don't want to leave, but we have to. We thought we could stay here. It's very difficult."
Moscow's capture of Pokrovsk, which lies at an intersection of roads and a railway line, would give Russia options to advance in new directions and also cut supply routes used by the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk region."

Russia is winning. They are advancing on the main front. And the Ukrainians will not be rampaging at will in Kursk for much longer. The Ukrainian ploy to entice Putin to move troops from the Donbass to Kursk has clearly failed. Putin did not bite and instead the advance in the Donbas is continuing.

Very obviously Russia is winning.

Absolutely no one is winning the whole world is losing whilst the climate catastrophe is coming like an express train down the tunnel at a frightening pace. But Russia can probably take a lot more pain and bodies than any western democracy ever could and Putin's power still holds despite lies as to cancer, Parkinson's , body doubles and all the other nonsense that western media likes to peddle. They have nukes, a kleprocratic capatalist system and the world's largest country and mineral reserves and a huge ally in China and other autocracies they ain't dissapearing anytime soon.

This is what the cheerleaders are cheering on. No wonder any sane man is hiding from recruiters it's virtual suicide.

Poorly trained recruits contribute to loss of Ukrainian territory on eastern front, commanders say. Some new soldiers refuse to fire at the enemy. Others, struggle to assemble weapons or to coordinate basic combat movements. A few have even walked away from their posts, leaving altogether-AP

The recently conscripted Ukrainians are a far cry from the battle-hardened fighters who flocked to join the war in the first year of the full-scale invasion. The new troops lack even a minimal level of training, commanders and soldiers from four brigades defending the Pokrovsk area said.

They described having to plan operations with infantry who are unable to shoot targets and uninformed about basic topography. Some recruits simply lacked faith in the battle plans of their superiors and walked away from prepared positions.

Looks to me like Ukraine is giving up territory that it knows  it would have lost anyway. In return, Ukraine gets  quality personnel to use to humiliate Putin. It is causing  Russians to become aware that they are at war with the Ukraine and that Russians will suffer.

Russia has had logistics issues since day 1 of its invasion. Going further into Ukraine lengthens the supply lines and makes Russian forces more vulnerable to Ukraine's new air capabilities. The Ukraine of today is different than the Ukraine of 6 months ago.  It has newer and more advanced ordinance with which to defend itself. Putin is using Russian conscripts to defend against the Ukraine attacks, and Russian 18, 19 year  teenagers olds do not want to die for a place they care nothing about, other than to look at the pornography that was churned out of Kiev pre war.

Probably the saddest thing I've read in this senseless war Kursk is increasingly looking like the death rattle of a dying nation. Without NATO going full in the war is lost. The people who were motivated to go defend the country, have already signed up. The people they are sending now, mostly don't give a damn  what country they live in, it's just a place they live. They are not vested in the government, the national identity, or any of that other jingoistic crap that gets people without means, killed for other peoples bank accounts.

"We started shouting that there are conscripts here, don't shoot," he said.

Another 22-year-old conscript said Ukrainian troops started storming his position on Aug. 7. He and a few others managed to spend the night hiding in a trench, but the next day, he was hit by a grenade and later captured.

As he spoke, he lay on the lower half of a bunk bed, shrapnel still embedded in both of his legs.

He is from St. Petersburg and was conscripted in October.

"We were told that we would not take part in hostilities," he said. "We understood that anything was possible, but we did not think that our day would end with us being prisoners of war in another country."

2 years ago the ex head of the British Army called it straight and said sue peace for land- those voices should have been listened to then and even more now. Find a route out of it asap. But here we are.

Would that be another trap like Avdiivka then? Gee wizz, and I was under the impression that the Russians have that now. I guess I must be mistaken.

That's the elephant in the room. Is NATO ( or at least the people that control NATO ) willing to risk MAD to "save" Ukraine?

I suspect that they are, but that the politicians are reluctant to go that far. They've kept it to supplying enough weapons to bleed Russia till now, but who knows what goes through the minds of warmongers?

IMO the danger increases the likelier Trump is to winning, as if he does, hopefully the fat lady will be singing, and the warmongers will want a fait accompli before he gets to sit in the big chair. They will have 2 months to make it happen.

What's a problem for Zelensky to give new Ukrainian passport for everyone from NATO wanting to fight for him?
It is absolutely legal, so why won't he do this?
You simply want to believe it is impossible. It is very similar to believing that Father Christmas lives in Greenland.
Even more interesting - Russia is already doing something very similar - you can see a lot of yesterday's migrant workers who are solders now.

LOL.

Would they be under their own commanders or Ukrainian ones? If under Ukrainian, how many of them would speak Ukrainian?

Even if it were possible, how many would want to end up in a front line trench in a country that they didn't sign up to defend?

IMO not even a starter.

UK will give Ukraine £3bn a year 'for as long as it takes', says Starmer. The British army have no need to donate any more tanks.

I predicted it and it's already starting. Donor nations to stop funding Ukraine:

Germany's FAZ reports Germany to halt military aid to Ukraine.

"Germany to halt new Ukraine military aid: Report

The ban, which is already in place, will affect all new requests for assistance to Kyiv, Germany’s FAZ newspaper reported."

False, donor countries are NOT stopping funding Ukraine, stop the misinformation, its pathetic. Again another week old article.

Germany is relying on what was agreed at the G7 to use $300 billion in frozen Russian assets to supply Ukraine with military equipment. Germany will still be supply   four billion euros in the 2025 budget to Ukraine. T

This proposal is not even decided by parliament yet.

You are wrong, Brian.

"The German government will stop new military aid to Ukraine as part of the ruling coalition's plan to reduce spending, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reported on Saturday.

The moratorium on new assistance is already in effect and will affect new requests for funding, not previously approved aid, according to the FAZ report, which cited non-public documents and emails as well as discussions with people familiar with the matter."

https://www.politico.eu/article/germany-halt-new-ukraine-military-aid-report-war-russia/

Whilst it's true that Germany will use interest on Russian assets to pay for prior funding commitments Germany's new budget signals a German change of course and a plan to slash payments to Ukraine by half."

"Berlin, which is Europe's main supplier of military aid to Kyiv, had already signaled a change in course on Ukraine last month, when the governing coalition of the Social Democrats, the Greens and the Liberals adopted a preliminary deal on a draft budget for 2025. The compromise seen by POLITICO detailed plans to slash future assistance to Ukraine by half to €4 billion to fulfill other spending priorities."

No I am not wrong.

"Germany has halved its military aid for Ukraine for 2025 compared to this year, according to its proposed budget for the new year.

The German government is set to allocate just four billion euros in the 2025 budget - almost half of the €7.5 billion it had allocated this year."

This statement of yours is what is false and misleading

Not at all, Germany has stopped funding Ukraine to the same extent. Germany has HALVED its funding for Ukraine.

Therefore Germany has stopped 50 percent of its funding for Ukraine.

Thus, your statement that donor nations have not stopped funding for Ukraine is wrong.

Countries in the West have limited resources. And even the major donor, the USA will be forced to re-evluate its funding in due course.
