Highly Intoxicated Foreigner Arrested in Patong Public Disturbance

Late last week in Patong, local residents reported a disruptive foreigner causing a significant public disturbance, prompting an immediate police response. The incident took place in front of a restaurant along Taweewong Road, close to the well-known Dolphin Roundabout.

On arriving at the scene, Patong Police found the man, described as a Caucasian foreigner, highly intoxicated and disruptive. According to reports, he was disturbing both locals and tourists, displaying aggressive and erratic behaviour. Attempts to calm him down proved futile as he resisted arrest and even tried to physically fight the officers.

Despite his resistance, the officers managed to subdue him and transported him to Patong Police Station. He is currently facing charges related to public intoxication and causing a public disturbance. The police have yet to release the suspect's name, age, or nationality, which has heightened interest in the incident.

Local authorities noted that the man was too intoxicated to communicate properly. Furthermore, he had no form of identification on him and was described as extremely uncooperative, which complicates the investigation.

The incident has raised concerns about the behaviour of some tourists and the impact on local communities. It underscores the ongoing challenge of maintaining public order in popular tourist destinations like Patong.

As the police continue their investigations, local residents and business owners hope that such disturbances can be minimised to maintain the area’s reputation as a safe and enjoyable place for both tourists and locals alike.

Updates on the foreigner's identity and any further legal action will be awaited with keen interest. For now, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities that come with enjoying nightlife and public spaces, especially in foreign lands.

Stop over-serving customers... half way to solving the problem.

If they persist in alternative consumption methods remove them from Thailand.

yes ....  how can the locals hear the loud speakers and the bass when cars drive past or the kids racing their noisy bikes or the Thai lady screaming at her husband .....  they can't hear all that with this drunk disturbing them.

I think that quite a few Aussies, Germans, Czechs, Indians and a few others can give them a run for their money.

Yeah I should have added Aussies. They get out of control. Tjhere is a new Aussie dude in Siem Reap transiting to Thailand and he is absolutely booze/weed crackers. Hes a Bogan too, I asked him if he was and he said yes.

Germans dont cause trouble, its not ordnung.

Ive never met a Czech outside Europe.

In the view of Americans, apocryphal of course, The Brits and Russians are champs. How many times have I heard "Bro you are as drunk as a Brit".

But please not less than 5000 Baht. He has to learn his lesson! 😵‍💫👍

Are they sure it was alcohol and not cannabis? The PM needs more cases to justify banning cannabis.
