Georgealbert Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 One person has died and up to 30 others have been injured after a plane from London to Singapore experienced severe turbulence, this afternoon The Boeing 777-312ER, plane operated by Singapore Airlines, flight SQ321, left the UK on Monday evening at 22:17, is reported to have experienced severe turbulence in the region, and was forced to make an emergency landing at BKK Airport.

The plane declared an emergency an squawked 7700 code, before landing just after 16.00 Squawk 7700 : An emergency has occurred with the aircraft. Both technical reasons or illness of passengers.

Yes fully agree, but surely the crew must’ve been aware they were flying into a storm, and the seat beat sign was on. Very little details available yet.

No detail but in these mass casualty events seated passengers who have belts secured are not usually harmed So why do many people feel seatbelts are "unconfortable", I never noticed myself? 1

Yes agree. Latest report is the plane hit an ‘air pocket’ and dropped 6000 feet. 1
