Pay your Citibank credit card bill - even if you don't have it

That´s very easy. Just keep track on what you order and not payed for.

Typical oversimplified dumbed down response...

We easily have a few hundred CC transactions each month...  every thing is tied to our Credit Cards...

From Grab Deliveries, taxis, Bolt, Tops delivery...  every day shopping... as well as other daily purchases.

Its impossible to keep track of it all without creating massive additional inconvenience - This is exactly was a statement is for.

If people are not getting their statement, then its an issue.

Additionally, its easy to say, yeah, pay it off every month, but some people are busier than others and fall into the habit of when the statement arrives, pay it off...    so when there is no statement, there is no trigger to make the payment.

I have one of the Citbank Credit Card accounts too.  I keep it in Credit by paying more than I used in the previous month.  Get the points but pay no interest.

Previously I was able to transfer from my Bangkok Bank Account to the Citibank Card.  I can't seem to do this anymore.

The UOB TMR App said I needed a Deposit Account with them.  Went to UOB Branch to open said account - I have an LTR Visa.  Not Impossible but very difficult without a Work Permit.  I just don't have the patience.

Needs letters from my Embassy or Immigration and a letter from my Thai Bank stating how much withholding tax had been paid on interest earned.  I don't have or need Term Deposit account in Thailand, so earn bugger all interest.

Anyway to cut a long story short I went over to the Bangkok Bank and withdrew a sizeable sum, dropped it on the UOB Counter and had it credited to my two cards (the missus uses the one).  The teller staff asked repeatedly why I didn't just open a deposit account, so I pulled out the long list of requirements handed to me in my previous "chat" with the Deposit Opening Lady and said "mai pen rai".

Yup... my Wife was forced to open a UOB Account just to pay off the credit card... its an extra step and not a major hassle, but it gets ridiculous...

... at least with the CitiBank card it could be paid off directly from any bank - I'm not sure why UOB have this setup.

From the offset UOB have had far greater teething issues than expected....   its not exactly a professionally managed 'transfer' over...

There are lots of people complaining about this.

We'd have already binned the card - but the points make it worth persevering...

(i.e. our spend is enough to secure flight etc).

Again, I thought the transition went pretty well, and we had over a year to get ready. The pre-switch charges and statements are (understandably) no available on the UOB app, but everything after the switch is. I like the app.

You can print the statement and scan and pay with Kasikorn.

They have a nice, big, full-service branch just past Emporium on the right coming Asoke.

That's actually their new corporate head office (690 Sukhumvit Road), not just any branch. Agree the service there is good, and modern systems and processes.

The corporate office is in the building behind it.

The coffee shop in the lobby is pretty good, if a bit pricy...

The coffee shop across the road is much better. 😉

Artis, corner Soi 18.

That's across about ten roads and a pretty good hoof.

Nice seating? I'll have to give it a try...

Yes, it´s very easy. Anything else is truly, as you say, dumbed down. You know you have something to pay, you just don´t go forget about it. That´s dumb 100%. Stop with the BS!

And don't get me started on the annual ~Bht4300 'membership' fee.

If you use the card 'enough' then you can just ask them to cancel the membership fee. I don't know what 'enough' is but I get the fee cancelled every time I ask. However it irritates me that I have to waste my time to ask, given that every year for more than 10 years I spend about the same on that UOB card and always get the fee cancelled.

UOB generally are pretty hopeless. My wife is going to ditch her Citi card because of the crap 'service' during this transition period.

Well, I just got an email and a text that my UOB e-statement closed May. Opened the app. printed the statement, and then scanned and paid it with the K-Bank app.

Anyone continuing to have issues?

I had a Citibank credit card once. I had so many problems with them that I went into a branch in Bangkok, leaned over a desk to grab some scissors and snipped the card into pieces in front of them

Yesterday UOB send me a SMS that I should pay my credit card bill.

I opened their app to look for my current statement. They had only two statements from previous months, no new statement.

I will look again in a day or two.

I think it's sad to see how bad their customer service is. It shouldn't be too difficult to provide their members with statements every month and after the statement exist send them a message to pay it.

if you have multiple Citi now UOB cards,  you'll be in for another pain, when you pay your credit card bills, they'll distribute the amount to each cards according to their convoluted logic that lead to one card being overpaid and interest accruing on the other

Since May where the takeover went full-swing lots of citi customers are ringing them non-stop, only way to correctly pay is via the branch

or the app, which is only available to those that can open an account with them

And they are waiting and waiting and waiting.

I tried two times and two times I gave up after 30 min.

And I have what they call a premium card...

citi bank, up until a few years ago used to be good for service, you get semi-private banking from as low of a deposit as 1 million, some even manage to get in for 100,000 baht,

snag is only a few branch but the one in Asok is usually good and not crowded,

you have to have much more deposit to get similar service with Bangkok Bank where you get to conduct your business at the Manager's office or the customer service desk rather than mixing in the queue

I'm in the same league as my fellow members here. Yesterday I went to my local Tesco-Lotus to pay 10'000 Baht for my Citibank credit card bill. But the Lotus cashier was unable to transfer my money. No barcode nor QR code  would work. Apparently, UOB had blocked everything. The Lotus staff told me to try at a 7/11 store. I did that, but same story.

So, last night I scoured this topic and found the apparently only recently released phone number 02 285 1555. I called this morning at 06:50 and my call was quite fast answered by a UOB representative. Please note: that number might be open 24 hours. He told me that for the beginning I could make a payment to UOB with my preferred banking app which is in my case BBL. Then he said that someone from his team would call me back later to help me register on the UOB TMRW app.

Actually, I had tried several times already yesterday to register, but every time I was rejected. Now I know why. I asked the UOB rep if I could check which passport number they have on file. It appeared they have my former passport number. That pp was replaced last year.

I just tried to register with my old pp number and that worked. So now I have a UOB user name and password. I can at least now log in at the UOB TMRW app. I still have to create a pin code, I haven't done this yet.

This post may help others who are in distress.

One more thing: during the registering process you are asked for your date of birth. To put that in is a pain in the arm. I'm born in 1946, so it took me about 5 minutes and a sore arm to get there. I was told by the UOB rep that they had received many complaints about this issue and told me that UOB will soon address this problem. Good Luck everyone!

Yes...

It's amazing how difficult they make it for their customers to pay with the card and how difficult they make it to see the card statement to know how much we have to pay to UOB.

But they have at least 100 other functions which at least I never used. Amazing.

When I tried to pay from my Bangkok Bank account to UOB a couple of days ago, I wasn't able to transfer, Last month it worked.  Why that happened, is beyond me. I called UOB three times within the last 24 hours. Every time I was told they would send me a statement to my email address, but so far today at 09:35 I still have not received anything.

I will go now to my local Bangkok Bank in Surin province and ask them to help. I will update later again.

Update: the statement just arrived, but I'm unable to open it.

Maybe silly, but did you check your junk? (mail)

According to UOB they normally don't send statements per email anymore.

Citibank did sent the statement per email.

According to them "for security reasons".

Indeed, but per Dario, "Every time I was told they would send me a statement to my email address, but so far today at 09:35 I still have not received anything."

The statements are available in the app.

Yes, with some delay.

I still make the mistake to open my UOB app to look for the new statement after they sent me an SMS telling me there is a new statement. Mistake! Try again in a day or two, then there will be a new statement.

Whoever is responsible for this is not just a little incompetent.

I had not noticed, but I'll take your word for it.
