Obviously, there are some girls who know they can get customers all the time, so they can tell some guys that she does not want to go with them. But it seems many of them have no such standards.

Very easy. If you have some game, if you have a great sense of humor, and are able to make them laugh and feel relaxed, if you are decent looking, and dress decently, and are well groomed, it can be quite easy here. Generally, Thai woman are very comfortable with their femininity, with flirting, and open to talking with someone who approaches them, very unlike women in the West, these days. Of course, it also depends on who you pursue. If you are going after wealthy women, who are wearing $3,500 outfits, you will likely get turned down. 

 

If you are in your 30's, Thailand is your oyster. There are hundreds of thousands of good looking, younger Thai women who are open to being with a foreigner, as long as he is financially stable. 98% of women want that stability. You simply need to be very assertive, have some game, hopefully have a minimal amount of bling, and a great sense of humor. If you can get them to laugh within a few moments of striking up a conversation with them, you are on your way. Gals who work in hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc. Stay away from the beach areas, and you will be fine finding a real civilian. Step up to the plate often, and just approach as many strangers are you can. Make a sport of it.

 

Also, I have friends who use Tinder, and in Bangkok 98% of the gals on Tinder are civilians, who are looking for a friend, a date or some romance. Many of them are highly successful, open to a foreigner, and do not have time for a relationship, from what I am told by a few difference guys.

You don't need to learn it all before dating. Learning Thai while dating is a useful litmus test, if the girl isn't helpful or chides you then dump her immediately, she want's to hide things. If she encourages you, it's a sign she interested in you.

I appreciate everything her earlier bf's have teached my wife, they have really done a good job.

 

Made my life 100% easier, and the last thing I wanted was a young pure poor girl who knew nothing about life. 

 

Those who speaks good language, and mean proper English shows character and willing to learn to improve their life.

RAMA IX had a nation wide program for Thai office workers and schools ( all grades ) to learn and speak English to be taught ONLY by volunteer native English ( English as 1st language ) speakers.

It depends on,  literally,  how much money you'll spend on the person.  The more money you spend, the more they'll date you. If you're the atypical tourist ,meaning old, fat, ugly, and male, you better bring your ENTIRE life savings for not only for her, his or its but their boyfriend hiding behind the door when you walk in the room from all the stories published.  A perfect example of the nasty old farang itourist is the old white guy that was a host on the YouTube channel 'The Thaiger' that mysteriously left the show and no doubt sitting in a Thai prison cell now.

Why don't dating apps work for you? When a foreigner dates a Thai girl, that has little to do with Thai dating culture. You're not dating the way two Thai people will date. It's a different game entirely. It's dating at an accelerated pace.

If you play your cards right, you can meet amazing Thai women on dating apps. Just be sure to stay clear of any women who are or who have ever been involved in the sex industry. There is usually a compromise that they won't speak any or little English so you need to be skilled at using the translator. I prefer clean, good women who don't speak English. As long as they're smart, they will pick up Engish fairly quickly and they are happy to have someone to learn it from.

 

It can take some effort to find what you're looking for. I had some bad (short) relationships too, but it's all a learning experience. I made bad choices. You probably need to fail a few times to learn the ropes. I went on many dates, probably something like 40 or so, but this can be quite enjoyable if you're not afraid to fail.

 

If you're living in Pattaya, perhaps more than 90% are freelancers, massage or bar girls, so you have to be diligent in your selection. If you're in Bangkok, it's easier to find women who have "real" jobs.

You don't need to learn Thai because most good girls who are smart, are dedicated to learning English. Times have changed as we now have translators in our pockets. To learn enough Thai to be able to communicate at a deeper level (which is required in a real relationship) would take years of dedicated study. I don't speak Thai and have no problems communicating with non-English speaking Thai ladies.
