Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
No. Because someone is called a "leading expert", does not validate the person's views or impart accuracy. The person cited as an expert, does indeed have an understanding of North Korea, particularly its social policies. However, she is not an expert in military intelligence interpretation, nor in the North Korean military. Her expertise is in social policy. She made her name as an "expert" when she was employed by the UN and lived in North Korea where she was an advocate for the lifting of certain sanctions applied on North Korea. If she were commenting on social policy , then yes, she could be considered an expert. However, she is now commenting on the interpretation of ship movements, of satellite images and the deciphering of messages and financial transactions between North Korea and Russia and this is an area of expertise for which she has no training, nor experience. You also ignore the fact that whatever Russia is doing with North Korea, may not necessarily have had the agreement, nor even full support of China. China has been pursuing a broadening of relations with South Korea and one of its arguments in favour of closer relations is that it holds itself out as having influence over North Korea. Russia may be annoying China with its use of the Korean slave labour for war. It was one thing to use it for construction and mine work, but waging war in Europe is something quite different. -

Thai worker killed by leftover ammunition in Israeli orchard
Don't you want to know about what happened in Gaza in 2014, 2021, 2023, 2006, etc. Do you know what 'mowing the lawn' means? Blockade, Apartheid, illegal settlements. It would give you a clearer picture. https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/02/israels-apartheid-against-palestinians-a-cruel-system-of-domination-and-a-crime-against-humanity/ -

Growing Comfrey
Comfrey grows like magic! It is a remarkable plant with amazing vigor, regenerative properties and a multitude of uses. There are controversial issues around human and livestock health and toxicity that you should look into. In Thailand is is not well-known or widely used, or available. It may be idealistic to consider cultivating it, unless you have sourcing for seeds or are patient and dedicated in propagating from your one plant. https://www.permaculture.co.uk/articles/comfrey-its-history-uses-benefits/#:~:text=Ground cover – Some species can,the best species for this. I don't know about comfrey in southern Thailand, but I've grown it in California, Chiang Mai and in southern India (Tamil Nadu Coramandel Coast) where there are double-whammy monsoon deluge seasons like southern Thailand. There we cultivated it on burms surrounding organic field crops, for biological control - pest predator habitat, and production of biomass for mulching and compost. Tuberous comfrey is used for ground cover, but knowing what I do now, I would prefer a mixed species cover crop for soil-building in an orchard or palm plantation. Cover-cropping orchards and vineyards - Dr Christine Jones https://youtu.be/PJs8GU1cG30?si=aKmMgXp1oCSDH112 Good on you if you are cover cropping for soil building in an oil-palm plantation. Our oldest daughter works in the palm oil industry in Chumphon and lives at her partner's familly plantation. I've seen firsthand the popular use of 0-0-60 fertilizer. Yes the large palm fruit has a high demand for potash, like durian. But the use of Potassium chloride is short-sighted and one of the worst things that you can do for soil and plant health. Repeated use is detrimental to the benefical soil biology and represents one of the worst aspects of chemical farming and soil degradation. Which of course can contribute to reduction of natural resistance to plant pests and diseases. -

Swing voters:Migrants swelled countys population by 30%, everybody falling behind in school
China is facing a population crises. The only thing keeping the US from facing the same problem is and will be the influx of immigrants into the US. The only thing is... The US must still be selective in the Quality of Immigrants it allows in, just as Thailand is doing the same when choosing which Quality Tourists arrive here in Thailand. Personally...and HONESTLY, with zero humor in this case: I would admit as many Chinese into the US as wished to emigrate from China to the USA. But still, I would be very selective in my choice of Chinese individuals and families admitted to the US to become permanent residents and eventually US citizens. I really DIG Chinese Culture, Chinese work ethic, Chinese reverence for Family and Education. In fact, I love the Chinese so much that I would actually PAY them to emigrate to the USA. The USA can use all the good Chinese families it can attract. And then, I would provide the top Chinese students with FREE TUITION to any Ivy League school, or to MIT or to CalTech, up through PhD level education, and PostDoc, too. Honestly, this is what I would do. Why should we let China keep all this Talent and Social Capital, anyway? I am SURE that ELON would agree with me. -

Microsoft patches TPM 2.0 bypass to prevent Windows 11 installs on PCs with unsupported CPU
Just glancing around on the 'net, the bypass now seems hit-or-miss w/ 24H2. Some insist that as long as your CPU supports SSE4.2, the old bypass will work; if not, then that loophole's gone. If not, it may install and run until you reboot. Another user says: The Rufus bypass method no longer works, at least for me on my 2018 hardware. The options to bypass are still there in Rufus, however, 24H2 forces the use of BitLocker, which absolutely requires TPM. Therefore, I cannot update 23H2 using USB Flash Drive or an .ISO file using the many methods we've been using the past few years to get Win11 installed on slightly older hardware. Some claim no problems, others insist that now various other hoops need to be jumped. Rufus, still actively supported, may update for more workaround. There's a discussion here (among many): https://www.elevenforum.com/t/how-do-i-get-around-this-issue-to-install-24h2.29134/ Seems M'soft did get stricter, but hasn't really dropped the hammer yet. YMMV. If I run across further news, I'll pass it along. -

Bank of Thailand Interest Rate Cut Offers Boost to Tourism Sector
Not inaccurate but they have left it late and they are behind the US who just cut 0.5%. Dare I say it but Srettha was right in suggesting an earlier rate cut might have set some momentum for a weaker THB for tourism/exports and to stimulate local investment. -

Foreign Election Interference in the US 2024 Election!
It fits the very definition of an insurrection to a tee, but it's not an insurrection. Got it, nothing to see here, move along!😂 -
