Actually, if you google 'spending per tourist in Thailand' for 2019 and 2023, in 2019 it was 48,580 baht vs. 50,900 baht in 2023.  So, I think it's incorrect to say that the 2023 tourists were spending 'much less' than those of 2019.

No you or they about have that backwards : 2019 , 2 trillion baht/40 million foreigners=50,000 baht/foreigner. 2023, 1.3 trillion/28 million foreigners=46,428

 * Best to do two searches for each year : 1) total foreign revenue. 2) total foreign visitors

It is famous for roadworks and traffic......and more to come apparently. Can't even keep a famous landmark fountain working!

Pattaya is not pedestrian friendly. Tourists and their families from the west want to walk and gawk which is impossible in Pattaya because of the state of the footpaths and having to look down all the time. The city fathers don't have a clue

Well  RobU if your walking in front of a flag it may not be too bad ?

Whenever I say words like "diverse" and "green", I just substitute the words *sucky*, *nonexistent*, *imaginary*, and *leftist*, and then it reads much more accurately.

I'll stick with the google figures I found.  But, even using yours, 46,400 vs. 50, 000 baht would not qualify to be called 'much less' spending by 2023 tourists vs. 2019 tourists.
