Suzuki to close Rayong plant.

Recommended Posts

7 June - Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced its decision to cease production and close the Suzuki Motor (Thailand) factory, in Rayong, effective by the end of 2025.

Suzuki said the global push in the use of EVs has led the company to consider optimising its global production efficiency, and vehicles for the Thai market will be imported from Japan and India after the closure.

After the closure Suzuki will continue its sales and after-sales service business in Thailand.

not long ago that they built that, around 2009 ish iirc....I worked right nearby. Wonder who bought it? it is a small facility, quite unusual these days for oem producers...good location

Neat little cars.

Had a Caribbean for 15 years, bought it second hand from Budget.

Very little maintenance needed and went everywhere on the island in it.

Paid 120k for it and sold it for 60k

Also had the saloon version for wifey - forgot the name.

Finally gave up cars and stayed with the bike - quicker in the crazy traffic.
