Do you think they stay in their hotel rooms all night every night?

I've seen them with my own eyes, gathering in groups round the corner from their hotel accommodation.

These things won't be reported, so if you haven't witnessed it I can understand your scepticism.

Illegal immigrants don't stay in hotels.

What do you think happens to illegal immigrants who get caught in UK?

They claim asylum and are given government support including accommodation and benefits.

No, they are not.

They get deported. That's what people need to understand. There is a huge difference between illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.

In 2022, there were 3,860 enforced returns. An incredibly small number.

If you look at the trends, fewer illegals are being detained and deported while many more are arriving. It's not sustainable.

Illegal immigrants don't live in hotels. Simple. Some asylum seekers are taken care of while their applications are being considered, in line with international law.

They should be in a suitable accommodation block, not in hotels paid for by the UK taxpayer.

If you claim asylum in Thailand, you are detained while the case is processed. Over 40 Uyghur asylum seekers have been in immigration detention for well over a decade.

No there isn't. Illegal immigrants arrive on small boats and then claim asylum. More than 60% of these are bogus claims and get refused. See link above.

The total amount spent on hotels and support for asylum seekers ballooned to £5.4bn in 2023-24

Where do you deport someone to if they don't have a passport or any records?

Tell that to the opposition, numerous charities and human rights groups.

Those that claim asylum are asylum seekers. Not illegal immigrants. The clue is in the name.

That figure is for FNO- Foreign national offenders.

The number of illegal immigrants deported was over 20000.

I reckon you can identify someone sharing your nationality and likewise someone who bogusly claimed to be of your nationality without ever seeing their passport.

It’s not rocket science.

Recruit to the immigration service native speakers born and raised in the countries from which migrants are arriving.

Nit picking.

Illegal immigrants arrive on boats, make bogus asylum claims and then get put up in hotels.

Yes technically while they drain the UK tax payers of funds waiting for their bogus asylum claims to be processed, they are deemed asylum seekers. But people will still call them illegal immigrants because in reality that's what they are.

Incorrect on so many points.

Time to go and educate yourself. Stop reading propaganda.

Then you and your people will stop calling groups by the wrong name.

It's called facing reality rather than wearing the rose tinted spectacles that 'your people' wear.

Illegal immigrants are deported to their own countries.

My response was to a post about people with no passports or records. Seems you have yourself confused.

"Most get deported"

Unfortunately most do not get deported. Most are young men and they end up loitering around town/city centres intimidating the locals.

Have you seen the drunk British immigrants in Pattaya. Most of them drunk sex tourists, taking advantage of Thai women.

Ah ya see, you don't like that comparison.

No, I'm not confused.

Those claiming asylum have documents.

Those without documents will be deported, when their country of origin has been determined.

Before Brexit, if an asylum application was refused, you could send them straight back to France as being part of the EU meant we had that deal in place.

Why do you think this asylum number has become a major issue now? It's because we can now not send them back. That is why we are now scrambling around looking for other countries like Rawanda - which is a mess in itself.

Secondly, under Labour asylum applications used to be done in a few weeks. Why is it now taking over a year? Theoretically, you could do an ayslum case in a couple of days (even in a day if you wanted to be tough).

Personally, i think the Tory's may have thought this type of electrioneering rhetoric against immigration would work in their benefit. If anything it has completely backfired, because they have failed to deliver.

The Tory party works best when they stay in the centre right of the political ground. A  balanced explanation why some immigration benefits the country, whilst illegal immigration and huge numbers should not be tolerated. Instead they have become so fearful of Farage, Brexit Party, UkIP, that they veered harsh to the far right and we had a catastrophic Brexit. They learnt nothing and did it again, and this time we could see the end of the party.

In one sentence they are "drunk British immigrants; in the next line they are "drunk sex tourists". By definition they cannot be both, so which "twin is the Toni"?

You seem to be very aware of the foibles of those you call British immigrants in Pattaya. Should we assume you are a relatively frequent visitor?

Temples, art galleries and the second hand bookshops do exhert a significant "draw"!

The link to the UK Gov immigration website that I posted earlier suggests otherwise.

They are expats on Non-immigrant visas that meet the financial requirements to obtain permission of stay.

It's a facile and pointless comparison.
