Good times in Subic

Was just thinking about the old days. Pulling into Subic Bay 1970's with Grande Is. to starboard, you could smell the PI. Exchange rate was 7  peso to 1 usd. When you walked across the bridge leaving the base you had the young ladies in a small boat with a net catching coins from the sailors. Magsaysay was pulsating with live bands every night. Monkey meat on a stick everywhere. 

The American Legion is still there, but a shell of it's former self. back in the day it was off limits to single women so you were safe there sitting on the balcony overlooking Magsaysay, it had chicken wire wrapped around the outside. Good times.
