Standards of commentating are fully in the bin now Martin Tyler has retired. Last of the golden generation.

Who's Peter Drury?

A rather excitable football commentator! A few of his "gems" are on the following YouTube video:

Thank you. Now I know why I've never heard of him.

I strongly suspect that there are quite a few of us on here who are envious of your blissful ignorance of the existence of Mr Drury!

Indeed so. For me, when it come to footie, ignorance is indeed bliss!

I get sick of the premier league commentators using the words " perfect start " if a team gets a quick goal.

"World Class" save for a goal bound shot or header that the keeper should save every day of the week.

" World Class " player because he passes a ball 20 yards.

A player that dives to get a Penalty or Free Kick ( and they all do it ) being called " Clever ".

With these knob heads and Women commentating , I just have to turn the sound off.

Is Jim Beglin still his summariser?

This outdated comment shows why you thought England could win the Euros.

Saw France stumble to a lucky win last night. Mbappe couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo.
