Thailand's constitutional court is expected to rule by September on cases that could dismiss Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and dissolve the opposition Move Forward party. These cases have increased political uncertainty.

 

The court will hear the Move Forward case on Wednesday and the PM's case on July 10th. The PM faces dismissal for appointing a lawyer jailed for contempt of court to his cabinet, which he denies. The Move Forward party, which was barred from forming the government after winning last year's election, is accused of trying to amend the lese majeste law, which it denies.


Three marine police officers will face disciplinary action for failing to monitor three seized oil-smuggling vessels, which disappeared from a pier in Sattahip last month.A further Two non-commissioned officers are being disciplined for dereliction of duty. Nine mobile phones, including one belonging to a superintendent, were seized.


The department of health says A bill that aims to protect children from marketing tactics promoting unhealthy snacks and drinks is now ready for legislators. Overconsumption of unhealthy foods is linked to a doubling of child obesity rates in thailand during the past two decades. The Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages Marketing Control bill aims to raise awareness among children and parents about these tactics, including AI-driven ads targeting youngsters.


The airports of Thailand company has closed several stores to make space for a change of use at Bangkoks suvarnabum and Phuket airports. 


More than 1000 square meters in Bangkok and almost 500 square meter  in Phuket will be used to make family friendly public spaces in the airport terminals.

South Korea:  A car drove into pedestrians near Seoulcity hall killing nine people and injuring at least four yesterday. 6 died at the scene and another 4 died later in hospital. The 68 year old driver was arrested after driving the wrong way down a street.   And into people crossing at traffic signals, police were checking to see if the driver was intoxicated.
