Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Agree, but Thai citizens don't need a visa to live in Thailand, foreigners do. Agree. Is it soooo left field to think they will not implement a TRD document being required for an extension? I mean, a couple of examples are, many people said cannabis would never be legalized, yet it was. Many people said Thaksin would never be back, but here he is. Would it surprise you if a TRD certificate was needed by immigration in the future? Agree. I have always said it was my "prediction." I ca not provide a link. Once again, is it soooo left field to consider they will not make it a requirement at extension time? Nah, they are NEVER going to ask, and if they EVER do, just tell them all your remittances is from non assessble income. They have ZERO in place to combat this loop hole, and that's because they never thought anyone would do such a thing. -

Thailand Gears Up to Welcome 770,000 Chinese Visitors During Lunar New Year
File photo for reference only Thailand is gearing up for an influx of approximately 770,000 Chinese visitors during the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, a notable increase of 22.6% from last year. The period from January 24 to February 2 is set to see crowded airports and bustling city streets, with the Thai government taking significant measures to manage the increased tourism. The deputy government spokeswoman, Sasikarn Watthanachan, highlighted the proactive steps being taken to accommodate these travellers. Key infrastructure, including the Department of Airports and Airports of Thailand (AoT), has been tasked with enhancing operations at major airports such as Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and others across the country. The projected passenger traffic is set to rise dramatically during this time, with Suvarnabhumi Airport alone expected to handle a whopping 11,238 flights. To tackle the surge in visitors, AoT plans to boost staff presence in critical areas like immigration checkpoints and baggage claim zones. Enhanced multilingual services and increased staff availability are among the measures introduced to assist the influx of tourists seamlessly. Safety remains a priority as runways undergo stringent inspections, and measures to prevent incidents like bird strikes are implemented. On the security front, the Royal Thai Police is ramping up its presence. Police Colonel Worasak Phisitbunnakorn confirmed that increased patrols will be conducted in busy tourist hotspots to ensure safety. Special attention is being paid to potential fire hazards from traditional incense burning, which could exacerbate air pollution issues. Overall, Thailand is poised to handle the Chinese New Year festivities with efficiency and enthusiasm, ready to welcome visitors with open arms. -- 2025-01-27 -

Southport Killer Sentenced to Minimum of 52 Years for 'Pure Evil' Murders
Nah, fake news, wish it was true but he's even got the prison wrong. MoJ responds after reports Southport killer Axel Rudakubana was beaten up in Strangeways prison Axel Rudakubana is currently being held in a segregation unit at HMP Belmarsh due to fears for his safety among general prison population. The Ministry of Justice has also confirmed that the claims made in the audio recording are false. It is also unclear whether Rudakubana will remain at HMP Belmarsh in south-east London - a high-security prison designed to house the most dangerous offenders. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/moj-responds-reports-southport-killer-154005743.html -

Visa extension
She is non Thai. Seems you both over 50 and have both been obtaining extensions based on retirement hence the 800k each. Marriage to the "intended" (like that term) changes nothing. If you can afford afford the 800k each in Thai bank account each then fine. Frankly in your situation I would consider agent for you and partner separate extensions. -
