Bangkok Police Thwart Major Street Racing Meetup

In the early hours of this morning, Bang Khen police successfully disrupted a significant street racing event on Ram Inthra Road, Bangkok.

 

The racers, approximately 50 in number, were observed racing and revving their engines around 3am but quickly scattered as police arrived on the scene. Despite their attempts to flee, one individual was apprehended.

 

Receiving reports about the gathering, Police Colonel Anan Vorasart of Bang Khen Police Station directed patrol officers to the site in front of Soi Ram Inthra 10, located in the Anusawari district. Officers arrived in time to witness the large group of motorcyclists preparing for a race.

 

Spotting the incoming police, the gathered motorcyclists swiftly dispersed, with many accelerating in different directions to avoid capture. In the ensuing chase, 23-year-old Chatirin, riding a white Honda motorcycle, was the sole individual apprehended. After his arrest, the police conducted a thorough search of his motorcycle.

 

Chatirin was informed of his rights and charged with attempting to race on a public road. Post-arrest, he was transferred to the investigators at Bang Khen Police Station for further legal processing.

 

This incident underscores the persistent problem of illegal motorcycle racing in Bangkok, posing significant dangers both to the participants and the public. The authorities continue to face challenges in curbing these illegal activities, which threaten the safety of other road users and pedestrians.

 

In separate news, Bangkok police raided a karaoke and traditional massage parlour today, uncovering an illicit prostitution ring involving Thai and Laotian women. The establishment was found to have over ten rooms repurposed for illegal activities.

 

The owner has confessed and the establishment is now under investigation by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division (ATPD), led by Saruti Kwangsopa. Officers from the Nong Chok Police Station collaborated in the raid, aiming to dismantle the illegal operation.

WOW! That´s an amazing job done by the RTP. Luckily for them, the single guy did not manage to escape while in custody. 😂
