Urgent Request for Information re Death of British Citizen in Thailand
This is a rather complex situation but I'll try to keep it as simple as possible. So I'll begin with a brief backstory. My daughter's British biological father passed away this past Saturday. I've raised the girl, now 12 years old, since birth with her mother. The father more or less abandoned her but reconnected with us about two months ago. He was 73 years old with five brain tumors along with another tumor in his shoulder. He knew his time was short and wanted to make a will leaving his assets to his daughter (she was the only child he had ever had) and his 40ish nephew who resides in Hong Kong. He passed away before making out his will. That obviously creates a host of complications. I'll add, importantly, that in May of last year we were able to get our daughter her first UK passport, so she is a British citizen and her biological father has been recognized. The major complication we face now is that it appears that a long time friend of the deceased has placed himself in a position of confidence with the deceased shortly before he passed on and was given the deceased final requests verbally along with his bank books and ATM cards. The deceased entrusted this friend to be the executor of his estate. Again, this was strictly verbal so the friend does not have any legal authority. My wife had gone to the police today to obtain the official Thai death certificate and also to one of the deceased's banks to alert them and have the current ATM card canceled. Now, I believe this is mandatory for a bank to do if, as in our case, the ATM cards are in the possession of another who has no legal authority to be in possession of them to protect against potential fraud. Any confirmation or correction of this would be appreciated. Another complication is that the deceased is currently in a hospital morgue. In order for the hospital to release the body for the funeral service, given that it's a British citizen, they must first receive documented permission from the British embassy. Since the deceased's next of kin is a minor then my daughter is not able to do this. So, the information I'm looking for is what the procedure would be. And whether or not the mother, who was never married to the deceased, would be able to do this. And where we would have to go. I've kept the facts to a minimum but if there is other information I need to give in order for someone to guide us properly I will be up quite late tonight to provide it promptly. Thanks in advance and cheers, Tippers -

Advisor Urges Public Not to Criticise PM Paetongtarn for using iPad
Thanks for your reply. Fantastic question. Well I'm not an idiot so I guess Kamala is. Maybe I'm being to harsh on the current VP because as everyone knows she grew up in a middle class family. "Vice President how will you tackle inflation?" Supercar convoy causes major delays on M6 motorway (video)
Probably meant 1000 steps originally. Miile = 1000. 2000 steps... as the 'pace' was measured at the time from 'left foot returning to the left foot' (i.e. two of our normal steps) - Mille Passus (1000 paces). -

Spreaders of Conspiracy Theories: Unmasking the Motivations Behind the Lies
For one thing, journalists in the US have just as much right to a political opinion, and a vote, as anyone else. And the other obvious point here: professional journalists (or what you would call the mainstream media) generally have advanced degrees in journalism (which includes training in fact checking, verifying sources, journalistic ethics, etc.); i.e., they are educated, and educated people do tend to vote Democratic, no doubt about it. (Remember Trump’s bellowing about how he loves the uneducated?) Your favored brand of journalism, I take it, is not mainstream, but nor is it professional; as far as I can tell, non-mainstream media comprises scattered loser blowhards living in their mothers’ basements, blogging whatever comes out of their fevered brains. I’ll take CNN and the New York Times any day over that, thank you. -

Spreaders of Conspiracy Theories: Unmasking the Motivations Behind the Lies
What you're also forgetting is the conspiracy theories that revealed inconvenient facts, even if the conspiracy theory hasn't been confirmed. Yet. A perfect example is the "eating cats" conspiracy theory. The inconvenient fact is that Springfield has been overrun with 20,000 Haitian migrants, straining the town's resources and causing all kinds of problems for the citizens. Problems that would have been (and were) swept under the rug until the conspiracy theory went viral. Even if the cat thing is never proven one way or the other, the controversy revealed huge problems with an open border, that wouldn't have made the MSM. But they were forced to acknowledge it, if only to cast doubt on the high statistical odds that turning loose 20,000 visitors from a culture that eats cats would result in some cats being eaten. -

Swing Voters: Fight Fight Fight for freedom against the lefts attack on Democracy
If you look at the polls today, they are essentially within the margin of error. Thats means Trump wins if everyone turns out. I voted, proudly for Trump. But even if you choose to vote for Harris, its your right. Always exercise your rights or you will lose them.- 1

Wine In Checked Baggage
People will probably shout at me, but when I travel, I put everything I want into my checked luggage, (except blatantly illegal things i.e. drugs, weapons). At most, some items may be confiscated, so don't put anything you simply can not afford to lose. BTW think about how many times you have been asked to open your bags at international airports. -
